É com grande satisfação que apresento a obra de Walquiria Marcelina de Almeida, “Memórias de Clementina: narrativa autobiográfica e autoconhecimento em pesquisa de campo mediada pela internet”. Este livro contribui para o autoconhecimento, explorando a interseção entre a narrativa autobiográfica e a tecnologia, a fim de elucidar a influência da interação social indireta nas habilidades socioemocionais. A autora aborda a origem social do autoconhecimento e sua relevância para a tomada de decisões, proatividade e resiliência, contrastando com movimentos de esquiva que intensificam os problemas. Ela propõe a hipótese de que o acesso a leitura e escrita, aliados ao contato social indireto, potencialmente favorecem o autoconhecimento. A pesquisa de campo envolveu doze participantes, de idades entre 26 a 57 anos, divididos em três subgrupos distintos. Com a ajuda de um vídeo postado no YouTube e dois roteiros de reflexão, os participantes foram incentivados a ler, refletir e responder perguntas baseadas nas memórias de Clementina Fritz, nascida em 1935, que descreveu suas experiências de infância e adolescência. A análise dos dados feita pela autora, baseada nas respostas aos roteiros de reflexão, resultou na criação de nove categorias de análise para avaliar as habilidades socioemocionais. Estas foram classificadas como “positivas”, “relativas” e “negativas”, fornecendo um panorama abrangente e detalhado das respostas emocionais ao material apresentado. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam para avanços significativos no autoconhecimento dos participantes, tanto através das respostas diretas no segundo roteiro de reflexão, quanto através da análise das habilidades socioemocionais baseadas nas respostas ao primeiro roteiro. Observa-se uma predominância de autoavaliações positivas, o que valida o potencial dos instrumentos utilizados para o desenvolvimento das habilidades investigadas, e mais especificamente, do autoconhecimento. A pesquisa aponta que os procedimentos on-line podem potencializar a aproximação consciente de cada participante consigo próprio, independentemente da presença de queixa clínica. Este conhecimento é extremamente útil para o delineamento de estudos futuros. Afinal, a busca por maior autoconhecimento é um esforço contínuo e sempre há espaço para refinamento e aperfeiçoamento. A autora aponta para a possibilidade de construção e o refinamento de repertórios básicos dos participantes por meio de atividades complementares de leitura e escrita. Em resumo, esta obra oferece uma contribuição significativa para a compreensão de como as narrativas pessoais mediadas pela tecnologia podem ser usadas para auxiliar no desenvolvimento do autoconhecimento. Este livro é mais do que uma investigação sobre a história de vida dos participantes e o momento presente. I recenti studi condotti nell’ambito della psicologia narrativa hanno dimostrato che sin dai primi mesi di vita i bambini iniziano a sviluppare la sofisticata capacità di ricordare e raccontare le esperienze vissute in prima persona. A ben vedere, le caratteristiche strutturali e contenutistiche dei resoconti autobiografici evolvono in modo graduale e vengono modellate direttamente dalle strutture sociali che forniscono format narrativi utili per riuscire a parlare di sé. Se da un lato la comunità scientifica ha riconosciuto il ruolo dello storytelling inteso come strumento indissolubilmente correlato a competenze quali la progettazione, il pensiero controfattuale e il mind reading, dall’altro lato negli ultimi anni ha dimostrato anche che la mappatura della realtà nella prima infanzia è di tipo visivo. È questo il motivo per il quale le narrazioni visive sequenziali autobiografiche devono essere riconosciute come strumenti cognitivo-emotivi privilegiati che devono obbligatoriamente entrare a far parte delle progettazioni educative rivolte a bambini dai tre ai dodici anni.

Two interrelated essays dealing with the economic, social, and political changes that took place in Central America Central America and its ill-fated federation (1824-1839) are often viewed as the archetype of the “anarchy” of early independent Spanish America. This book consists of two interralted essays dealing with the economic, social, and political changes that took place in Central America, changes that let to both Liberal regime consolidation and export agricultural development after the middle of the last century. The authors provide a challenging reinterpretation of Central American history and the most detailed analysis available in English of this most heterogeneous and obscure of societies. It avoids the dichotomous (Costa Rica versus the rest of Central America) and the centralist (Guatemala as the standard or model) treatments dominant in the existing literature and is required reading for anyone with an interest in 19th century Latin America.
