Como autor negro, a intenção de Otávio Jr. é mostrar e revelar seu grande legado para o circo brasileiro para os pequenos leitores num texto lúdico e em tom "circense". Não há a intenção de escrever biografias ou perfis: o propósito é incentivar a pesquisa sobre a vida e obra do "personagem", oferecendo "livros de descobertas" que deixem brechas para o leitor buscar mais informações após a leitura.
