Orang yang diberikan keistimewaan makrifat maka jalan hidupnya dirasakan datar, damai, dan bahagia sebagaimana layaknya para malaikat. Meskipun di hadapannya banyak tantangan dan cobaan, tetapi selalu dihadapi dengan baik sangka (husnuzhan) kepada Allah Swt. Musibah dan penderitaan pun dirasakan sebagai bagian dari nikmat Allah Swt., karena sudah mampu memahami apa arti dan hikmah di balik setiap peristiwa.

Buku ini lahir sebagal hasil refleksi penulis dalam mencermati fenomena disrupsi yang terjadi belakangan ini. Perubahan-perubahan sosial di era disrupsi telah mengakibatkan merosotnya nilal dan norma pada sebagian masyarakat. Fenomena ini terjadi diduga berakar dari penolakan (negasi) terhadap hakekat ruh dan penyingkiran ma'nawiyah secara gradual dalam kehidupan manusia. Akibatnya, sebagian orang mengalami kekeringan spiritual dan ketiadaan wisdom (kebijakan) dalam memanfaatkan teknologi yang semakin berkembang pesat. Banyak cara yang ditawarkan oleh para ahli untuk mengatasi problematika masyarakat di era disrupsi ini. Salah satu cara yang hampir disepakati para ahli adalah dengan cara mempraktikkan prinsip-prinsip hidup tasawuf dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal inilah yang menjadi fokus pembahasan utama buku ini. Diharapkan dengan membacanya, bisa menawarkan langkah-langkah ubudiyyah yang mampu menciptakan hubungan sedekat mungkin antara manusia dengan Allah serta mampu membangun hubungan dengan sesama manusia secara positif.
