Bujang Parewa Menggenggam Bara Fahrial Ajisman Sukses Eksekutif Emas Hitam Di Pulau Kalimantan written by Efri Yoni Baikoeni and has been published by Gre Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with categories.

40 or 50 families control the economies of Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia. Their interests range from banking to property, from shipping to sugar, from vice to gambling. 13 of the 50 richest families in the world are in South East Asia yet they are largely unknown outside confined business circles. Often this is because they control the press and television as well as everything else. How do they do it? What are their secrets? And is it good news or bad for the places where they operate? Joe Studwell explosively lifts the lid on a world of staggering secrecy and shows that the little most people know is almost entirely wrong.

The Makings Of Indonesian Islam written by Michael Laffan and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12 with History categories.

Indonesian Islam is often portrayed as being intrinsically moderate by virtue of the role that mystical Sufism played in shaping its traditions. According to Western observers--from Dutch colonial administrators and orientalist scholars to modern anthropologists such as the late Clifford Geertz--Indonesia's peaceful interpretation of Islam has been perpetually under threat from outside by more violent, intolerant Islamic traditions that were originally imposed by conquering Arab armies. The Makings of Indonesian Islam challenges this widely accepted narrative, offering a more balanced assessment of the intellectual and cultural history of the most populous Muslim nation on Earth. Michael Laffan traces how the popular image of Indonesian Islam was shaped by encounters between colonial Dutch scholars and reformist Islamic thinkers. He shows how Dutch religious preoccupations sometimes echoed Muslim concerns about the relationship between faith and the state, and how Dutch-Islamic discourse throughout the long centuries of European colonialism helped give rise to Indonesia's distinctive national and religious culture. The Makings of Indonesian Islam presents Islamic and colonial history as an integrated whole, revealing the ways our understanding of Indonesian Islam, both past and present, came to be.

The Javanese text being published here is not appearing in print for the first time: more than half Cli century ago it was published by B.J.O. Schrieke in his doctQr's thesis Ret Boek van Bonang ("The Book of Bonang") (1916). In Schrieke's work, however, the emphasis fell O'n the historical introductiQn to the text rather than on the text itself, the edition of which is nQt free of shortcomings. MoreQver, the analysis of the contents of the text appended to it could not make up Qf a complete translation. for the lack That a new edition and complete translation of this Qld and important text has nQt been made before now is due to the small number of scholars of Javanese - and the even smaller number of those amQng them who concern themselves with the Muslim works of Javanese literature. In short, it is the piQneering character which the study of Indonesian literatures still largely PQssesses that has caused people to be contented with preliminary surveys Qf this extensive field of study j it is true that a number of welcQme milestones have been erected, but it can in no way be said that the cha:rting Qf the whole field is yet complete. After the first publication of a text and summary of its contents people are only too readily inclined to proceed to other projects, mOore attractive because of their novelty.

Exploring Language Change written by Mari Jones and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-09-13 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

In this student-friendly text, Jones and Singh explore the phenomenon of language change, with a particular focus on the social contexts of its occurrence and possible motivations, including speakers’ intentions and attitudes. Presenting new or little-known data, the authors draw a distinction between "unconscious" and "deliberate" change. The discussion on "unconscious" change considers phenomena such as the emergence and obsolescence of individual languages, whilst the sections on "deliberate" change focus on issues of language planning, including the strategies of language revival and revitalization movements. There is also a detailed exploration of what is arguably the most extreme instance of "deliberate" change; language invention for real-world use. Examining an extensive range of language situations, Exploring Language Change makes a clear, but often ignored distinction between concepts such as language policy and planning, and language revival and revitalization. Also featured are a number of case studies which demonstrate that real-life language use is often much more complex than theoretical abstractions might suggest. This is a key text for students on a variety of courses, including sociolinguistics, historical linguistics and language policy and planning.

Southeast Asian Perspectives On Security written by Derek Da Cunha and has been published by Institute of Southeast Asian Studies this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000 with Political Science categories.

The conventional understanding of strategic issues in the modern world has been very much a Western-driven phenomenon. That is to say, Western strategists, thinkers and writers have tended to establish the principles of strategic concepts, and to develop theories around them. While there is utility in much Western strategic thought, it is also apt to note that some of it does not have full relevance or validity when applied to a regional setting that is far removed from the geographical boundaries of the Western world. In that connection, this volume is partly intended to serve as an antidote to much of the Western commentary on Asia-Pacific security issues by providing a range of perspectives on those issues from the Southeast Asian point of view. It offers a range of Southeast Asian perspectives on the multifaceted security issues that confront the Asia-Pacific region in the post-Cold War era. That there is no unitary perspective emanating from the region is symptomatic of the very fluid geopolitical situation that characterizes Asia-Pacific security, and, of equal import, the different schools of thought that analysts in the region have chosen to subscribe to.

University Presses worldwide are struggling with three key issues: profitability and sustainability, globalization (digitalization and dominance of English), and Open Access. Indonesia, categorized as the third world in global discourse, is still developing its scholarly communication institution, including its University Press. Many publications stated that the Indonesian university press is in a weak position because of the managerial problem, the lack of support from authority and human resources matters. This research aims to seek the position of Indonesian University Press in the three main issues and pay much attention to elaborating the UGM Press. It combined the online survey and interviews as the primary data that engage several figures and communities with close interaction with University Press. The online survey reached three groups of people: Lecturers, Librarians, and General Audiences. The interview was conducted with the UP directors, publishing academics, UP’s author, and the chairman of the Indonesian University Press Association. To analyze those data, I use the theory of symbolic capital initiated by Bourdieu and interpreted by Thomson in the field of scholarly communication and the theory of reputation introduced by Gloria Origgi. In terms of profitability, the condition of Indonesian University Presses is very diverse. I found that the university presses with its host institution having the status of “PTNBH” could be survived with generating revenue from its business models. University Presses in Indonesia, including UGM Press, have been embracing the POD scheme that allowed them to apply “restricted production”, and then transform into “large-distribution and channels” with e-book platforms, social media, and online marketplace. UGM Press decided to concentrate on penetrating the local market because its publications are dominantly in Indonesian. Open Access had not become the priority of Indonesia University Presses because they were still thinking about the new business model or alternatives for supporting their cost for operating the business. Some changes in government regulations should be taken to create a supportive environment for University Presses to grow.
