Am Pool lernt er eine junge Mexikanerin kennen, mit der er eine –zunächst – zwanglose Affäre beginnt. Doch dann erscheint der Bruder seiner Bekanntschaft und stellt Bedingungen mit weitreichenden Konsequenzen. Als kurz darauf der Kampfpilot auftaucht, der ihm nachgereist ist, weil für ihn Fragen offengeblieben waren, spitzt sich die Lage zu – unausweichlich steuert die unerhörte Begebenheit auf einen dramatischen Höhepunkt zu. Vor 33 Jahren, im Jahr 1984, erschien "Mexikanische Novelle" von Bodo Kirchhoff. Im Frühjahr 2017 wird diese wichtige Arbeit Kirchhoffs in einer vom Autor neu erarbeiteten Fassung vorgelegt.
