Cu toate acestea, capacitatea de a descoperi înşelăciunile nu ne oferă prea multe beneficii în viaţa zilnică. Un avantaj important constă în capacitatea de a contracara manipulările odată ce acestea sunt descoperite, adică să ştim cum să reacţionăm corespunzător la ele. Volumul de faţă explorează diferite tehnici de detectare a minciunilor şi analizează avantajele şi limitele bazate pe studii ştiinţifice. Autorul explică în detaliu psihologia minciunilor comune (cele pe care le spunem cu toţii) şi complicitatea ce face posibilă înşelăciunea: cel care minte ne spune ceea ce vrem să auzim. This book examines how the process of remembering Stalinist repression in Romania has shifted from individual, family, and group representations of lived and witnessed experiences characteristic of the 1990s to more recent and state-sponsored expressions of historical remembrance through their incorporation in official commemorations, propaganda sites, and restorative and compensatory measures. There are many myths about serial killers: that they are all dysfunctional loners; all white males; only motivated by sex; that they all travel and operate across a wide area; cannot stop killing; are all insane, or evil geniuses; and that they all want to get caught. Of course, there are some serial killers who fit into these categories, but the married Green River Killer was not a dysfunctional loner; there are plenty of female and non-Caucasian serial killers; Dr Harold Shipman was certainly not motivated by sex; many serial killings (such as the Ipswich prostitute murders carried out by Steve Wright) happen within a confined area; the 'BTK Killer', Dennis Rader, stopped killing in 1991, but wasn't caught until fourteen years later. Many serial killers may have a low animal cunning, or be 'street smart', but few of them are Mensa-level geniuses. Cum poate MEC să se asigure că 90% din români vor fi alfabetizați digital? Folosind digitalizarea școlii ca pe o pârghie a unui uriaș mecanism de inginerie socială? Acesta a ajuns rolul școlii? A ajuns MEC un soi de Minister al Propagandei și Uniformizării? Pe vremea când elevii purtau uniforme școala era mai umană decât astăzi, când, sub pavăza ideologiei diversității de toate felurile, părinții și copiii sunt supuși la cele mai despotice și umilitoare forme de manipulare și îndobitocire.
