Welcome to Kaleidoscopic view of Minor Prophets, where the prophecies are decoded to apply to our present situation. In these days of extreme commercialism and competition, people are not able to find time to read and study the Bible thoroughly. But we know that the Word of God is powerful and has answers for all the problems of the humanity in every generation.The last 12 books in the Old Testament are rarely read and understood by the Evangelical Christians. This volume of the twelve prophets, although are brief in words, but are mighty in meaning. The placement of the books in the Bible were made comparing the volume of prophecy with other prophets but not in the chronological order. Therefore, the bigger prophecies viz. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel come earlier. But in actual, many of the minor prophets, prophesied much before them.It was my desire to study the Minor Prophets and other books thoroughly for my personal edification. With the spiritual experience of more than 25-years and 10-years of diligent and thorough inductive study, God has helped me to exercise my deep desire to make an inductive study on prophetic books and New Testament letters. God has revealed to me that the prophecies provide a set patterns for the dispensation of the world. Most of the prophets have foreseen their imminent crisis, thus prophesied the final events to happen in Eschatological period. The Minor prophets give a profound meaning, interpretation and application for the entire humanity of things which would happen over a period of next 2500 years. So, if anyone wants to know what is going to happen tomorrow and later on, he or she must study the Minor Prophets thoroughly. Of course, it requires special interest to study the prophecies in Old Testament and needs some basic background. We have so many commentaries available in the bookshops and in online stores, written by great men of God and theologians. Many are quite voluminous and bulky.My intention of writing this book, was to reach out to such people who are finding lack of time, but desirous to read Old Testament prophetic books. So, I decided to write a brief account of all the Minor prophets and made a humble attempt to put prophecies with their historical background, the situation which prompted them to write, the relevance to the present generation and with some deep research. I assure you that each chapter in this book will make you to read further, and will be a great blessing to lead a life pleasing to God. I have simplified the meanings for a layman understanding and applied relevant examples of the present generation. I have used thoughts and opinions of great scholars, great men of God and some noted theologians. Each prophet foresees the coming events in different spectrums and this makes the reader to remain bonded on the Word of God. Initially, I have written it for my own spiritual edification, used extensively in many seminars and churches, but now I am putting it on an E-book for the benefit of others. I assure you that each chapter in this book will make you to read further, and will be a great blessing to lead a life pleasing to God. I strongly believe that the readers would be highly motivated to study Old Testament after reading this book.May the Lord help me and all of us to better understand His will and discharge our duties in this changing scenario of the world.

For most people literary criticism is a mystery that often seems inaccessible, written for an in-group. Even worse, a Battle of the Books has broken out between neoconservatives and neoradicals--all the more reason to steer clear of the fray. Geoffrey Hartman argues that ignoring the culture wars would be unwise, for what is at stake is the nature of the arts we prize and our obligation to remain civil and avoid the apocalyptic tone of most political prophecy. Hartman's book is both a survey of the history of modern literary criticism and a strategic intervention. First he presents an account of the culture of criticism in the last one hundred years. He then widens the focus to provide a picture of the critical essay from 1700 to the present in order to show that a major change in style took place after 1950. Two chapters focus on F. R. Leavis and Paul de Man, central--and controversial--figures in academic criticism. Hartman attends to major developments on the continent and in Anglo-American circles that have disrupted the calm of what he calls the friendship or conversational style. On the one hand, critics and thinkers have pursued strange gods in order to enrich and sharpen their critical style. This change Hartman welcomes. On the other hand, along with a renewed interest in politics and historical speculation, a didactic and moralistic tone has again entered the scene. Hartman rejects this new moralism. The author is an eloquent defender of reading the text of criticism as carefully as the text of literature. He argues for a broader conception of critical style, one that would support the open and conversational voice of the public critic as well as the inventive and innovative practice of the technical critic. Hartman sets before us an ideal of literary criticism that can acknowledge theory yet does not shrink from a sustained, text-centered response. I have had in view somewhat specially those who have been and are yet to be trained to thoughtful study of God's word in Sabbath schools and Bible classes, and indeed all those laymen and women who love the Sacred Scriptures, and who naturally wish to know their full and precise meaning. - While in the main it has been my plan to give results only, and not the processes by which I reach them, yet points of great practical interest and value, e., those prophecies respecting the Messiah and his kingdom which yet remain in part to be fulfilled, I have deemed it important to discuss fundamentally and thoroughly, so that the reader may see what principles of interpretation I adopt, and why, - and also to what results they have led me. A superficial treatment of these points ought to be eminently unsatisfactory. The commentator has his option whether to restrict his work mainly to the unfolding of the exact sense, or to speak more or less fully of the practical and moral applications of the truth which he brings out. These moral applications are, of course, of the utmost importance to every reader; yet usually God has left each reader to make them for himself, and adapt them to his own case. Hence I have thought it cannot be unwise for me to follow for the most part the same method - assuming that Gods word as it came from his lips will have power on men's hearts when the full sense of it is clearly apprehended.
