Most of them have appeared, from time to time, in English and Cana dian publications; and while some of them have been kindly received, others have probably passed unread and even unnoticed. What little merit there is in them is no doubt overbalanced by metrical defects, and by Nature's failure to endow me with the fine frenzy of the true poet. Such as they are, however, these poems are ofiered to whoever may be disposed to spare occasional moments in the reading of them, and if I find but a few indulgent and appreciative readers I.
