Wie arm sind die Menschen noch dran, die nicht wissen, dass wir mit euch und in euch, die ihr uns auf Erden die Liebsten ward, weiterleben - und mit euch sprechen können. Viele würden schuddern (schaudern, Hrsg.) und wer weiß an was für einen Hokuspokus denken, und dabei ist das so natürlich - doch viel natürlicher, als wenn aller Verkehr plötzlich abgebrochen ist! Wie unsinnig zu denken, dass ein denkender, fühlender, schaffender und strebender Mensch plötzlich aus ist, weil er eine Hülle, ein Kleid abstreift. Die Essenz bleibt doch, und das ist doch dasjenige, was man geliebt hat - wenn man wirklich geliebt hat! Eine oberflächliche Empfindung ist natürlich vergänglich, da gibt es kein Nachher - aber was Wurzeln schlägt, geht den Kreislauf des Lebens weiter. Dagmar, 9. September 1935

Ich habe in diesem Buch meine persönlichen Eindrücke, Wahrnehmungen und Erinnerungen niedergeschrieben, die mich während der "Zwangsinhaftierung" anläßlich der Corona-Pandemie beschlichen haben. Lagerkoller, fehlende Friseureinsätze, Ladenschließungen und andere mit den Beschränkungen verbundene Erlebnisse spielen dabei eine große Rolle. Neben durchaus kritischen Betrachtungen soll dabei jedoch auch der Humor nicht zu kurz kommen. Auch wenn es mein Verständnis von Humor ist.

The margravial court astronomer Simon Marius, was involved in all of the new observations made with the recently invented telescope in the early part of the seventeenth century. He also discovered the Moons of Jupiter in January 1610, but lost the priority dispute with Galileo Galilei, because he missed to publish his findings in a timely manner. The history of astronomy neglected Marius for a long time, finding only the apologists for the Copernican system worthy of attention. In contrast the papers presented on the occasion of the Simon Marius Anniversary Conference 2014, and collected in this volume, demonstrate that it is just this struggle to find the correct astronomical system that makes him particularly interesting. His research into comets, sunspots, the Moons of Jupiter and the phases of Venus led him to abandon the Ptolemaic system and adopt the Tychonic one. He could not take the final step to heliocentricity but his rejection was based on empirical arguments of his time. This volume presents a translation of the main work of Marius and shows the current state of historical research on Marius.

Romantik und Emotionsdarstellung scheinen genuin zusammenzugehören: Mit der Fokussierung der Ästhetik der Emotionen, ihrer gattungstypischen Inszenierung und Repräsentation bei Arnim, Günderrode, Goethe, Heine, Hoffmann, Schiller, Tieck u.a. bietet der Band eine breite Erarbeitung dieses Spannungsverhältnisses. Emotionstheoretisch gilt auch heute noch Herders Diktum: „Empfindung und Wort sind sich so gar entgegen: der wahrhafte Affekt ist stumm, durchbraust unsre ganze Brust inwendig eingeschlossen.“ Die Beiträge analysieren entsprechend den ›Umgang‹ mit bzw. die Repräsentation von Emotionen in der Literatur der Romantik. Die Tatsache, dass Gefühle anderer nie direkt zugänglich sind und eigene Gefühle nur durch willkürliche Zeichen (Worte) oder Körperzeichen anderen vermittelt bzw. dem Fühlenden bewusst werden können, steht im Mittelpunkt des Interesses an literarischen Gefühlsdarstellungen. Emotionen sind in der Wahrnehmung, auch in der Eigenwahrnehmung immer schon vermittelt; für fiktionale Emotionsdarstellungen würde, denkt man die Mittelbarkeit zu Ende, also gelten, dass sie nur „als diskursive bzw. ästhetische, nicht als real-psychische Entitäten“ existieren (Rüdiger Schnell).
