Luigi Rinaldi traccia una distopia ricca e appassionante, costruendo non uno ma tre mondi ognuno con i suoi regimi in modo diverso totalitari e oppressivi. Mettendo la protagonista di fronte a dilemmi e questioni morali di difficile soluzione, ma senza mai abbassare il ritmo di una narrazione che, come sempre nei libri di Rinaldi, tienei incollati alla pagina. Luigi Rinaldi è nato a Roma nel 1967. Docente di ruolo in Chimica nella scuola secondaria, ha lavorato in passato nel campo nei rifiuti industriali e delle bonifiche ambientali. Ancora oggi svolge attività di consulente in qualità di libero professionista. Scrive per hobby da alcuni anni per lo più racconti di fantascienza, genere di cui è molto appassionato. Nel 2006 è giunto terzo al Premio Alien con il racconto Sindrome 75 e, sempre nel 2006 è giusto finalista al Premio Galassia – Città di Piacenza. Nel 2010 ha vinto il Premio Robot con il racconto Hidden, con il quale è giunto finalista anche al Premio Italia 2011. Dal 2012 al 2018 è stato plurifinalista al Premio Rill. Nel 2021 e nel 2023 ha vinto il Premio Odissea, con i romanzi Blu Espero e Onda omologica editi da Delos Digital. Nel 2018 ha pubblicato l’antologia Oscuro prossimo venturo tramite l’editore Wild Boar. È presente con un suo racconto Prova di Recupero nell’antologia Altri Futuri (Delos Digital, 2019), curata da Carmine Treanni. Altri suoi racconti sono stati pubblicati in diverse antologie quali NASF, Short Stories e, con Delos Books, in 365 racconti erotici per un anno, 365 racconti horror per un anno, 365 racconti sulla fine del mondo e Magazzini di Mondi. Ha scritto anche racconti non di genere che sono stati pubblicati in antologie della Giulio Perrone. Nella vita privata è sposato con Yumi, con la quale ha collaborato in alcuni lavori per conto della casa editrice giapponese Engine Room (è stato il “copywriter” italiano in un libro d’illustrazioni fotografiche su Venezia venduto in Giappone). Yumi stessa ha lavorato in ambito letterario: è stata traduttrice di numerose opere (dall’inglese al giapponese), tra le quali alcuni romanzi dello scrittore scozzese Scott Mariani. Luigi Rinaldi parla un discreto giapponese.
