Sawer dalam prosesi perkawinan memiliki karakter yang khas yakni diiringi dengan tembang atau lagu berbahasa Sunda yang biasanya berisi nasihat, petuah, atau wasiat dari orang tuanya yang diwakilkan kepada juru sawer. Kedua mempelai harus melalui proses sawer sebagai sarana "pendidikan nilai"sebelum menjalankan kehidupan sebagai pasangan suami istri. Mengingat pentingnya upacara sawer dalam budaya sunda, maka buku ini wajib dibaca sebagai media penyuluhan untuk menyisipkan pesan-pesan kesehatan terkait HIV-AIDS yang dikemas dalam bentuk nasihat atau petuah bagi pasangan pengantin, petugas kesehatan, dan masyarakat umum.
