The Moments of Encounter: 30 Days Devotional is the answer to this dilemma in which many of us often find ourselves embroiled. The Moments of Encounter is a 30 Days devotional compiled by Youth and Young Adults across the parishes of Kingston and St. Andrew. We are living in an era where so many things are competing for our time and our attention. Nonetheless, it is paramount that our habit of reading the scriptures and spending time with our Father does not suffer as a result. To empower the Youth and Young Adult Ministries (YAYAs) and facilitate moments of encounter with our Heavenly Father, we have developed a 30 Days Devotional geared towards this effort. The devotional addresses various topics affecting youth and young adults; the entries are concise, profound, and power-packed. It allows individuals to find biblical answers to different situations. Each day is comprised of a relatable scenario, a verse, and the application. This book promises to be an asset to anyone, especially those with limited time but who have a desire to read the word of God, understand it and, by extension, apply it. It is intentionally designed to make each moment impactful, transformational, and life-changing. Are you ready for Moments of Encounter? Read on for more!

The tragic encounter of the Bemba, a people of central Africa, and Europeans during the colonial era is seen in this book as a clash between two fundamentally different images of man. Understanding the myths and symbols which express these images is shown to illuminate and deepen our understanding of political history, and a structural relation between the history of religions and political science is established. Rather than at the aesthetic level of artistic creation, the most important function of «creative hermeneutics» lies at the ethical-political level of modern man's quest for peace.

Moments Of Meeting In Psychoanalysis written by Susan Lord and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-09 with Psychology categories.

There are moments of connection between analysts and patients during any therapeutic encounter upon which the therapy can turn. Moments of Meeting in Psychoanalysis explores how analysts and therapists can experience these moments of meeting, shows how this interaction can become an enlivening and creative process, and seeks to recognise how it can change both the analyst and patient in profound and fundamental ways. The theory and practice of contemporary psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy has reached an exciting new moment of generous and generative interaction. As psychoanalysts become more intersubjective and relational in their work, it becomes increasingly critical that they develop approaches that have the capacity to harness and understand powerful moments of meeting, capable of propelling change through the therapeutic relationship. Often these are surprising human moments in which both client and clinician are moved and transformed. Moments of Meeting in Psychoanalysis offers a window into the ways in which some of today’s practitioners think about, encourage, and work with these moments of meeting in their practices. Each chapter of the book offers theoretical material, case examples, and a discussion of various therapists’ reflections on and experiences with these moments of meeting. With contributions from relational psychoanalysts, psychotherapists and Jungian analysts, and covering essential topics such as shame, impasse, mindfulness, and group work, this book offers new theoretical thinking and practical clinical guidance on how best to work with moments of meeting in any relationally oriented therapeutic practice. Moments of Meeting in Psychoanalysis will be of great interest to psychoanalysts, psychoanalytic psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, workers in other mental health fields, graduate students, and anyone interested in change processes.

Kierkegaard S Theology Of Encounter written by David Lappano and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-12-22 with Religion categories.

Kierkegaard's Theology of Encounter provides a theoretical framework that brings the unity of Kierkegaard's 'middle period' into relief. David Lappano analyses Kierkegaard's writings between 1846 and 1852 when the socially constructive dimension of his thought comes to prominence, involving two dialectical aspects of religiousness identified by Kierkegaard: they are the edifying and the polemical. How these come together and get worked out in the lives of individuals form the basis of what can be called a Kierkegaardian 'social praxis'. Lappano argues that the tension between the edifying and the polemical can be coherently maintained in a communicative life that is also characteristic of a militant faith. This militant faith and life is presented as a critical guard against absolutisms, fundamentalisms, and intellectual aloofness; but the 'militant' individual is also utterly dependent, in need of edification and critique, and therefore chooses the risk of encountering others, seeking relationships out of a commitment to the development of people and communities in co-operation. Therefore, not only does this dialectic provide readers with an important theoretical framework for understanding Kierkegaard's 'middle period', it is also a valuable resource for a constructive analysis of active social living suitable for theology in the twenty-first century.

The most vital and significant moments in life are moments of encounter. Whether we encounter ourselves, others, or God, these moments let us know that life is meaningful. And presence is what makes encounter possible. When we are truly present, everything that has being becomes potentially present to us. In this unique resource, David Benner invites us to live with more presence so we can know the presence of God more deeply in our lives. Drawing on over thirty-five years of experience integrating psychology and spirituality, Benner examines the transformational possibilities of spiritual presence and encounter in fresh, exciting, and practical ways. He helps readers understand the personal and interpersonal dimensions of presence and encounter, revealing how they mediate Divine Presence and serve as sacraments of everyday life. His rich meditations are presented in a voice that is intelligent, compassionate, and engaging. The book includes end-of-chapter reflection exercises for individual or group use and a foreword by Richard Rohr.
