"Told in Rhyme with hilarious illustrations, this book wonders how different animals would react when they try new foods." --I'm Not the Nanny Did you ever wonder why we eat what we do? And why we turn up our nose at something new? Why some people like what others don't? Why some people eat what others won't? Do you think that's true of other creatures too? Do Mice Eat Rice? is a witty, rhyming story by author Al Wight, with humorous and imaginative illustrations by Roger Clarke. Children are encouraged by this multicultural children's book to consider what animals might or might not eat, and by extension, what other people in different parts of the world from different cultures eat that is very different from what we do. Children will learn to eat lots of new foods and be introduced to new animals, in a fun way.

The Who's That series are sturdy board books that are perfect vehicles for interactive animal fun, as each volume focuses on a different aspect of animal behavior that can be easily acted out-like playing, eating, moving and making noises. Have you ever wondered what an anteater slurps on? How about what a squirrel nibbles on? Who's That? Eating serves up rollicking language and bright pictures that feature animals at mealtime in their natural habitats. Kids are encouraged to compare the eating habits of popular animals while enjoying themselves at the same time.

All The World S Reward written by Reimund Kvideland and has been published by University of Washington Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-12-01 with Literary Collections categories.

All the World’s Reward presents ninety-eight tales from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Swedish-speaking Finland, and Iceland. Each area is represented by the complete recorded repertoire of a single storyteller. Such a focus helps place the stories in the context of the communities in which they were performed and also reveals how individual folk artists used the medium of oral literature to make statements about their lives and their world. Some preferred jocular stories and others wonder tales; some performed mostly for adults, others for children; some used storytelling to criticize society, and others spun wish fulfillment tales to find relief from a harsh reality. For the most part collected a century ago, the stories were gleaned from archives and printed sources; the Icelandic repertoire was collected on audiotape in the 1960s. Each repertoire was selected by a noted folklorist. Introductions to the storytellers and collectors and commentaries and references for the tales are provided. A general introduction, a comprehensive bibliography, and an index of the tales according to Aarne-Thompson’s typology are also included. Period illustrations add charm to the stories.
