In physics, as a branch of science that studies energy and matter, the central problem has always been the question of the mechanisms of energy interactions and the formation of material structures. There is a growing consensus that this may be the same mechanism as matter is a form of energy. But from this point, the disagreements start. Thus, the unified model of fundamental interactions (‘theory of everything’) remains out of reach. The two currently leading theories, the Standard Model of elementary particle physics and the General Theory of Relativity, separately cover only part of the interactions. Moreover, they are incompatible since they proceed from hypotheses about different mechanisms. However, as they are considered impeccable dogmas that are both right, generations of physicists tried to unify them without any success. The thought that they may be both wrong is alien to the current mainstream of theoretical physics. The author of the book breaks this taboo. He shows the fallacy of both models and suggests that trying to unify them is a meaningless pursuit. But criticism alone is not enough, and we need to find a way out. Instead of unifying old theories, we can build a new theory that unifies physical phenomena. In the first volume of the “Symphony of Matter and Mind” series, the author begins to develop a model of a universal mechanism operating at all levels of matter and in all types of energy interactions, thus indicating a way out of the impasse of theoretical physics.

Through a series of vivid case studies, Music and Creativity in Healthcare Settings: Does Music Matter? documents the ways in which music brings humanity to sterile healthcare spaces, and its significance for people dealing with major illness. It also considers the notion of the arts as a vessel to explore humanitarian questions surrounding serious illness, namely what it is to be human. Overarching themes include: taking control; security and safety; listening; the normalization of the environment; being an individual; expressing emotion; transcendence and hope and expressing the inexpressible. With an emphasis on service user narratives, chapters are enriched with examples of good practice using music in healthcare. Furthermore, a focus on aesthetic deprivation contributes to debates on the intrinsic and instrumental value of music and the arts in modern society. This concise study will be a valuable source of inspiration for care givers and service users in the health sector; it will also appeal to scholars and researchers in the areas of Music medicine and music Therapy, and the Medical Humanities.

Based on the Theory of Energy Harmony developed in the first two volumes of the series, this book builds bridges between physical and life sciences. It tackles fundamental questions that are considered the main riddles of biology. How do four elements of non-living matter form basic structures of living matter? What is the physical mechanism that binds them into biochemical molecules? The proposed model proceeds from the assumption that there are no special biophysical laws and the mechanism of energy interactions is universal for all types of matter. The elements that form organic compounds have characteristics that allow them to create the Music of Life using this mechanism. Starting from a detailed account of how notes of this music arise, the book takes the reader step by step into the intricacies of the complex melodies, harmonies and rhythms of living matter. This foundation brings us to the central theme of the study. Living systems have one main feature distinguishing them from inanimate things. They have an internal process that allows them to purposefully adapt to the surrounding world and sustain integrity. We call it the Mind. There is a paradox: the Mind is an obvious concept, but it remains a mystery. Everyone understands what it is about, but when it comes to explaining what it is physically and how it works, we cannot say anything definite. The absence of a physical explanation led to the idea about the immaterial nature of the Mind and, therefore, its inaccessibility for study and understanding. Even in the materialistic approach, attempts to define the Mind vanished in a fog of uncertainty. The author offers a way out of this vicious circle by giving a clear physical definition of the Mind. This bold attempt that does not leave any room for pathetic excuses about elusive intangibility allows us to take an entirely new look at the functional, physiological and technological aspects of the process, which will be revealed in subsequent parts of the study.

Sound Heritage is the first study of music in the historic house museum, featuring contributions from both music and heritage scholars and professionals in a richly interdisciplinary approach to central issues. It examines how music materials can be used to create narratives about past inhabitants and their surroundings - including aspects of social and cultural life beyond the activity of music making itself - and explores how music as sound, material, and practice can be more consistently and engagingly integrated into the curation and interpretation of historic houses. The volume is structured around a selection of thematic chapters and a series of shorter case studies, each focusing on a specific house, object or project. Key themes include: Different types of historic house, including the case of the composer or musician house; what can be learned from museums and galleries about the use of sound and music and what may not transfer to the historic house setting Musical instruments as part of a wider collection; questions of restoration and public use; and the demands of particular collection types such as sheet music Musical objects and pieces of music as storytelling components, and the use of music to affectively colour narratives or experiences. This is a pioneering study that will appeal to all those interested in the intersection between Music and Museum and Heritage Studies. It will also be of interest to scholars and researchers of Music History, Popular Music, Performance Studies and Material Culture.

Today's education and communications media are seen to be the main cause of the anonymity of contemporary music and suggestions are made to improve this situation. Leigh Landy investigates audio-visual applications that have hardly been explored, new timbres and sound sources, the discovery of musical space, new notations, musical politics, and the 'musical community' in an attempt to incite more composers, musicians and musicologists to get this music out into the works and to stimulate the creation of new experimental works.

The Physics Of Music And Color written by Leon Gunther and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-09-23 with Science categories.

The Physics of Music and Color deals with two subjects, music and color - sound and light in the physically objective sense - in a single volume. The basic underlying physical principles of the two subjects overlap greatly: both music and color are manifestations of wave phenomena, and commonalities exist as to the production, transmission, and detection of sound and light. This book aids readers in studying both subjects, which involve nearly the entire gamut of the fundamental laws of classical as well as modern physics. Where traditional introductory physics and courses are styled so that the basic principles are introduced first and are then applied wherever possible, this book is based on a motivational approach: it introduces a subject by demonstrating a set of related phenomena, challenging readers by calling for a physical basis for what is observed. The Physics of Music and Color is written at level suitable for college students without any scientific background, requiring only simple algebra and a passing familiarity with trigonometry. It contains numerous problems at the end of each chapter that help the reader to fully grasp the subject.
