Kinder und Jugendliche erleben in der dynamischen Bildungslandschaft grundsätzliche Veränderungen. Durch Kürzung der Schulzeitlaufbahn und Ausbau der Ganztagsschulen findet ein Großteil des Alltages in der Schule statt. Außerschulische Musikangebote können nur begrenzt wahrgenommen werden. Die Bildungseinrichtungen Musikschule und allgemein bildende Schule müssen sich im Sinne der Gestaltung kommunaler Bildungslandschaften öffnen und sich notwendigerweise verzahnen. Kooperationen stehen vielerorts am Anfang einer Entwicklung, wie die aktuelle Debatte innerhalb der großen Musikverbände verdeutlicht. Aus eigenen Unterrichtserfahrungen mit Schülern aus Kooperationsmodellen wurde die Autorin auf vielfältige Probleme aufmerksam, die sie zur folgenden Fragestellung und schließlich zur Untersuchung bewegten: Inwieweit kann sich das Bewusstsein um Chancen einer realisierten Kooperation zwischen den Bildungsinstitutionen Ganztagsschule und Musikschule als Motivator für ein perspektivisches Herangehen an Probleme der Vernetzung erweisen? Dabei wird nach den Zielsetzungen und Intentionen der Musikpädagogen von Ganztagsschulen und Musikschulen sowie nach subjektiven Sichtweisen bezüglich der Musikvermittlung, der Organisation und Struktur von Kooperationsmodellen zu fragen sein. Es sollen Chancen und Probleme erörtert werden, die das Arbeitsfeld Kooperation gestalten. Musikschullehrer und Schulmusiker verschiedener praktizierender Musikalisierungsprogramme wurden für die vorliegende Untersuchung mithilfe von Leitfadeninterviews befragt.

In Vorbereitung der vorliegenden Arbeit konnte die Gelegenheit wahrgenommen werden, eine aktuelle Debatte um die Themenagenda Kooperation zwischen Musikschule und Ganztagsschule zu verfolgen. Im Austausch wurden Fragen aufgeworfen, welche in vielfältiger Form die Themenfelder berühren. Warum sollen Ganztagsschulen und Musikschulen kooperieren? Worin besteht die Intention, Ganztagsschulen zu eröffnen? Welche Bedeutung hat die Musizierpraxis innerhalb des allgemein bildenden Musikunterrichts und worin bestehen die Aufgaben- sowie Handlungsbereiche? Welchen Stellenwert hat die Musikvermittlung im deutschen Bildungssystem? Inwieweit gestalten sich Bedingungspostulate der Musikverbände hinsichtlich einer institutionellen Allianz? Wie gelingen Kooperationen zwischen Musikschule und Ganztagsschule? Welche Ziele verfolgen Kooperationspartner in einer sich wandelnden Bildungslandschaft?
