I am not reputed as a charismatic leader with a gifted pen - a youthful firebrand, at once impassioned and refined. But I begin fitfully to work on poems. This is full of emotions that started flowing down on paper. As the title of my book "VERSE FROM HEART" relates to the feelings and emotions of my heart. I have penned down certain poems. My poems consist of many things. You'll find about love, nature, and beauty. How Nature soothes the mind and beauty soothe the heart. Some characters are there I have mentioned. Their life, struggle, and my attachment to them. I have penned down about farmers and poor people. How their life is miserable. How they have always been trampled under the bare feet of their fate. You'll find my remorse about something that happened against humanity. So, dear readers, you'll find all meaningful thoughts and emotions. It would also open my eyes about why certain things happened in my life. As I wrote the poems, God allowed the mysteries to unfold. And just as He told me I would, I found the answers that blessed me. The poem Where is God When it Hurts? is the one that inspired me most and triggered the birthing of this book. I went through a vivid time in my life that the only way healing came was through writing what I was feeling. Out of the writings came Poetry from the Heart. For this I am so grateful. I pray that this book will be a blessing to every hand that holds it and every soul that receives it. May it bring wholeness and healing to every part of you and help to lay the foundation for discovering the answers to questions that you, too, have pondered in your heart and never shared with anyone. ... I started writing poetry when I was seventeen years old; I found out that when you put your thoughts into words sometimes magic happens. I'm not talking about genies popping out of a bottle or anything like that, but in how I see things clearer and how beautiful this world truly is. I found out later in life how much easier it was to find a date in high school. I used to try and talk to girls and found out sometimes I'd get a little gun shy and pass up my chance. Then one day, I wrote a poem for this girl I had my eye on. I walked up to her and handed her the poem and then walked away. Later she approached me and we went out on a date. I found the magic potion to breaking the ice (so to speak) was a piece of paper and a writing pen. I learned how to put my thoughts down on a piece of paper, which later I put into a blank book that I would write my poems in. After I was told by at least fifty or so people that I should share these poems to others, I sat down and sorted out the poems I thought could touch your heart the best. I hope my poems are inspirational enough to help you create your own book.

This book contains over twenty-eight different types of poetry, with explanations and examples of each type. Many of my poems are romantic, such as "My Beloved," "Ode to Melissa," "To Love a Woman," "My Heart's Desire," "Love," and "My Love." While others are inspirational, like "Forgiveness," "Hope," "The Seven Virtues," "Empathy," and "Kindness." Still others are philosophical in nature, such as my poems "Living," "True Freedom," "Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings," and "The State of the Economy." My kyrielle poem "Life" could be said to be both inspirational and philosophical. Some of my poems are educational, like "The Benefits of Reading," which extols the virtues of reading, and "To Be Young Again," which talks about nutrition and exercise. Some are family-oriented poems, such as my poem "Little Bit," which I wrote for my niece Kristin, or "Camping with Younger Brother," which I wrote for my brother Craig, or "Little Child," which I wrote for all the little ones in the world. Other poems are devoted to nature like my "Froggy," "Turtle," "Tornado," and "Mother Nature" poems or to mankind in general, such as "Earth on Which We Live" and "True Happiness." And others were written with some fun in mind, like the poem "Nude" I wrote in response to an online contest to rhyme the last word in each line with the word nude. ("Birthday Lesson" is another fun poem like this.) I also did a series of seven poems on each of "the seven deadly sins," where I used archaic language to spoof each of these "sins," which unfortunately often plague mankind. I truly hope you will enjoy reading the poems contained in this book.
