In Our Ultimate Hope, Max Lucado unpacks the undeniable problem of fallen mankind and the unshakable promise God offers of “no condemnation.” With scripted prayers and guided questions to help renew your soul, Our Ultimate Hope is the perfect companion to Unshakable Hope. The realization of our moral debt sends some people into a frenzy of good works. Life becomes an unending quest to do enough, be better, accomplish more. A pursuit of piety. We attend church, tend to the sick, go on pilgrimages, and go on fasts. Yet deep within is the gnawing fear, What if, having done all that, I’ve not done enough? Other people respond to the list, not with activity, but unbelief. They throw up their hands and walk away exasperated. No God would demand so much. He can’t be pleased. He can’t be satisfied. He must not exist. If he does exist, he is not worth knowing. Two extremes. The legalist and the atheist. The worker desperate to impress God. The unbeliever convinced there is no God. Can you relate to either of the two? Do you know the weariness that comes from legalism? Do you know the loneliness that comes from atheism? What do we do? Are despair and disbelief the only options? Join Max on a soul-renewing guide through Scripture’s ultimate hope: “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 8:1).

A Philosophy Of Human Hope written by J.J. Godfrey and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Philosophy categories.

Few reference works in philosophy have articles on hope. Few also are systematic or large-scale philosophical studies of hope. Hope is admitted to be important in people's lives, but as a topic for study, hope has largely been left to psychologists and theologians. For the most part philosophers treat hope en passant. My aim is to outline a general theory of hope, to explore its structure, forms, goals, reasonableness, and implications, and to trace the implications of such a theory for atheism or theism. What has been written is quite disparate. Some see hope in an individualistic, often existential, way, and some in a social and political way. Hope is proposed by some as essentially atheistic, and by others as incomprehensible outside of one or another kind of theism. Is it possible to think consistently and at the same time comprehensively about the phenomenon of human hoping? Or is it several phenomena? How could there be such diverse understandings of so central a human experience? On what rational basis could people differ over whether hope is linked to God? What I offer here is a systematic analysis, but one worked out in dialogue with Ernst Bloch, Immanuel Kant, and Gabriel Marcel. Ernst Bloch of course was a Marxist and officially an atheist, Gabriel Marcel a Christian theist, and Immanuel Kant was a theist, but not in a conventional way.

Hope And Education written by David Halpin and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-11-01 with Education categories.

This book is a rallying cry to teachers at a time when many in the profession feel profoundly pessimistic about their work and the future of education. In this uplifting book, David Halpin suggests ways of putting the hope back into education, exploring the value of and need for utopian thinking in discussions of the purpose of education and school policy. David Halpin does not attempt to predict the future of schooling. Rather, he discusses the attitude educators should adopt about its reform and the prospect of educational change. He suggests that educators need to adopt a militant optimism of the will, applying aspects of the utopian imagination through which hopefulness can be brought to bear on educational situations. This important book will stimulate fresh thinking about school reform. It will be interesting reading for those studying for Masters and Doctoral degrees in education, and academics, researchers and policy makers working in the same field.

What does the Gospel have to do with Creation Care? From Augustine to Martin Luther, theologians and preachers recognized that God speaks to his people through 'two books', namely the Bible and his created world. In this volume an international group of theologians, scientists and creation care practitioners explore what this ancient truth means for us today. They show how care of God's creation must be an integral part of the mission of Christ's church, an expression of joyful worship, and a path of hope for a world in desperate need of it. The Bible In The Contemporary World written by Richard Bauckham and has been published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015 with Religion categories.

A crucial responsibility for Christian interpreters of Scripture, says Richard Bauckham, is to understand our contemporary context and to explore the Bible's relevance to it in ways that reflect serious critical engagement with that context. In this book Bauckham models how this task can be carried out. Bauckham calls for our reading of Scripture to lead us to greater engagement with critical issues in today's world, including globalization, environmental degradation, and widespread poverty. He works to bring biblical texts to bear on these contemporary realities through the Bible's metanarrative of God and the world, according to which God's purpose takes effect in the blessing and salvation and fulfillment of the world as his cherished creation.
