Bab pertama dalam buku ini mengetengahkan pemaparan tafsir permulaan surah Maryam yaitu dari ayat 1 hingga 40 yang berkisah tentang peristiwa sebelum kelahiran bunda Maryam hingga nantinya Nabi Isa dilahirkan dan berbicara kepada manusia. Mengapa permulaan tafsir surah Maryam ini dipaparkan di awal? Jawabannya adalah karena pada saat sebagian Sahabat Nabi berhijrah ke Habasyah (Etiopia), Ja’far bin Abi Tholib membacakan permulaan surah Maryam tersebut di hadapan Ash-hamah anNajasyi penguasa Habasyah yang masih kafir beragama Nasrani pada saat itu, hingga menyentuh perasaan beliau dan menjadi sebab masuk Islam. Referensi awal dari penyusunan buku ini adalah bersumber dari kitab Qoshoshul Anbiyaa’ karya al-Imam Ibnu Katsir rahimahullah. Kemudian sebagian ayat alQuran itu dijabarkan maknanya dengan merujuk pada kitab-kitab tafsir karya para Ulama Ahlussunnah, seperti Tafsir atThobariy, Tafsir al-Baghowiy, Tafsir Ibn Katsir, Zaadul Masir karya Ibnul Jauziy, Tafsir al-Qurthubiy, Tafsir as-Sa’diy atau Taisir Karimir Rahman fi Tafsiri Kalamil Mannan, Adhwaaul Bayaan karya asy-Syinqithiy, dan semisalnya. Tidak jarang dari penelusuran kitab-kitab tafsir itu didapati adanya hadits Nabi yang shahih, atsar para Sahabat Nabi, atau ucapan Tabiin maupun Ulama setelahnya. Hadits-hadits dalam kitab Qoshoshul Anbiyaa’ itu juga dipilah lagi. Apabila kita cenderung pada pendapat Ulama yang menshahihkannya, kita ketengahkan pula dalam buku ini. Kemudian kita gali penjabaran makna hadits itu dari kitab-kitab syarh (penjelasan) hadits karya para Ulama seperti Fathul Baariy karya Ibnu Hajar al-Asqolaaniy, al-Minhaaj Syarh Shahih Muslim bin al-Hajjaaj karya anNawawiy, Tuhfatul Ahwadziy syarh Sunan atTirmidzi karya al-Mubarakfuriy, Aunul Ma’bud syarh Sunan Abi Dawud, dan semisalnya. Allah SWT (Exalted and Glorified be He) introduced me in the last of His Books saying, "(Remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection), 'O 'Isa (Jesus), son of Mary am (Mary)! Remember My Favor to you and to your mother when I supported you with Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibril (Gabriel)) so that you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught you writing, Al-Hikmah (the power of understanding), the Tawrat (Torah) and the Injil (Gospel); and when you made out of the clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My Permission, and you breathed into it, and it became a bird by My Permission.'"(The Noble Quran) That is me. A handful of clay...I was the princess of clay, even though I was made of clay. Then I fell in love. That was before Prophet Isa AS (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary) touched me. When I fell in love I began to transform. How can a creature explain the scent of the earth that was originally the sky? I was calm, still and content with my state of being a lump of clay. I do not dream, for clay does not have the ability to do this. Even though I could not dream, I was content. I had a long history before I became earthly clay. At first, I was a part of the sun. Then billions of years passed by and I had not yet fallen in love, so the burning embers were put out and I was transformed into rock on a planet they call the earth in a place they call Palestine The Land of Al-Aqsha Mosque.

Jesus is believed to be a prophet who neither married nor had any children and is reflected as a significant figure, being found in the Quran in 93 ayaat (Arabic for verses) with various titles attached such as "Son of Mary", "Spirit of God and the "Word of God" among other relational terms, mentioned directly and indirectly, over 187 times. Prophet Jesus is the most mentioned person in the Quran; 25 times by the name Isa, 3rd-person 48 times, 1st-person 35 times, the rest as titles and attributes.The Quran (central religious text of Islam) and most Hadith (testimonial reports) mention Prophet Jesus to have been born a "pure boy" (without sin) to Mary (Maryam) as the result of virginal conception, similar to the event of the Annunciation in Christianity. In Islamic theology, Jesus is believed to have performed many miracles, several being mentioned in the Quran such as speaking as an infant, healing various ailments like blindness, raising the dead to life, making birds out of clay and breathing life into them. Over the centuries, Islamic writers have referenced other miracles like casting out demons, having borrowed from pre-Islamic sources, some heretical, and from canonical sources as legends about Jesus were expanded. Like all prophets in Islamic thought, Prophet Jesus is also called a Muslim (one who submits to the will of God), as he preached that his followers should adopt the "straight path". Prophet Jesus is written about by some Muslim scholars as the perfect man.In Islam, Prophet Jesus is believed to have been the precursor to Prophet Muhammad SAW, attributing the name Ahmad to someone who would follow Jesus. Sebongkah tanah... Di masa itu, akulah putri tanah. Seorang putri walaupun hanya di kalangan tanah. Lalu aku pun jatuh cinta. Waktu itu ketika Isa, putra Ibunda Siti Maryam, menyentuhku. Ketika aku jatuh cinta, tubuhku yang dibuat dari tanah liat, mulai berubah perlahan-lahan. Bagaimana bisa aku mengungkapkan wangi tanah yang mula-mula ada di langit? Saat itu aku mencoba tenang, dan merasa cukup dengan kehadiranku sebagai sebongkah tanah. Aku sama sekali tidak berani bermimpi, karena tanah memang tidak punya kemampuan bermimpi. Tapi walaupun aku tak bisa bermimpi, aku merasa cukup dengan kehadiranku. Sejarahku sebelum menjadi tanah bumi sudah cukup panjang. Sebelumnya, aku bahkan pernah menjadi bagian dari matahari. Kemudian milyaran tahun berlalu dan aku belum juga jatuh cinta, sehingga bara matahari pun memadam, aku berubah menjadi batuan karang yang akhirnya menjadi bagian sebuah planet yang disebut Bumi, tepatnya di tempat yang kini dikenal orang dengan nama Palestina. Aku ini bagian dari tanah Palestina. Lihatlah seberapa banyak penderitaanku. Ribuan tahun telah berlalu tanpa aku bisa merasa jatuh cinta.

This is the first comprehensive and systematic theory of textuality that takes into account the relevant views of both analytic and Continental thinkers and also of major historical figures. The author shows that most of the confusion surrounding textuality is the result of three factors: a too-narrow understanding of the category; a lack of a proper distinction among logical, epistemological, and metaphysical issues; and a lack of proper grounding of epistemological and metaphysical questions on logic analyses. The author begins with a logical analysis of the notion of text resulting in a definition that serves as the basis for the distinctions he subsequently draws between texts on the one hand and language, artifacts, and art objects on the other; and for the classification of texts according to their modality and function. The second part of the book uses the conclusions of the first part to solve the various epistemological issues which have been raised about texts by philosophers of language, semioticians, hermeneuticists, literary critics, semanticists, aestheticians, and historiographers.
