Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Printmedien, Presse, Note: 1, Universität Salzburg (Kommunikationswissenschaft), Veranstaltung: SE Printmedien in Österreich, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Thema dieser Bakkalaureatsarbeit insgesamt betrifft die Nachrichtenmagazine in Deutschland. Da meine Kollegin Claudia Halbedl und ich dieses Thema gemeinsam erhalten haben, stellte sich die Frage, wie wir dieses aufteilen sollten. Da man sich darüber streiten kann, ob der „Stern“ ein echtes Nachrichtenmagazin und der „Focus“ ein noch relativ junges Blatt ist, entschieden wir uns, diese beiden im Rahmen einer Arbeit zu behandeln und den SPIEGEL gesondert in einer zweiten. In meiner Arbeit beschäftige ich mich deshalb mit dem SPIEGEL insbesondere mit der Geschichte und Entwicklung des Blattes. Das der SPIEGEL einen hohen Bekanntheitsgrad hat und bereits seit langer Zeit erfolgreich ist, dürfte unbestritten sein. Daher soll untersucht werden, ob der Erfolg des SPIEGEL begründbar ist. Daraus leitet sich die erste Forschungsfrage ab: Was sind die Gründe für den Erfolg des SPIEGEL? Um diese Frage zu beantworten, werden folgende Hypothesen geprüft: Für Besitzer von brisanten Informationen ist der SPIEGEL die erste Adresse, um diese zu veröffentlichen. Das Image des SPIEGEL hat das ideale Image, um als Nachrichtenmagazin erfolgreich zu sein. Um den Stellenwert des SPIEGEL genauer zu untersuchen, wird zum einen auf die Bedeutung des SPIEGEL für die Politik in Deutschland eingegangen, zum anderen wird der Beitrag erforscht, den der SPIEGEL zum investigativen Journalismus leistet. Die daraus resultierende Forschungsfrage lautet: Welchen Beitrag leistet der SPIEGEL zum investigativen Journalismus und welchen Einfluss hat er auf die Politik? Folgende Hypothesen werden daher überprüft: Der SPIEGEL hat durch investigativen Journalismus zahlreiche Skandale und Missstände aufgedeckt. Der SPIEGEL hat direkten Einfluss auf die Politik in Deutschland. Der „Focus“ ist das erste Nachrichtenmagazin in Deutschland, dem es gelungen ist neben dem SPIEGEL bestehen zu können. Weiterhin soll untersucht werden, ob und welche Auswirkungen die Einführung des „Focus“ für den SPIEGEL hatte. Die dritte Forschungsfrage lautet deshalb: Welche Veränderungen gab es beim SPIEGEL in Folge der Einführung des „Focus“? Abgeleitete Hypothesen zu dieser Forschungsfrage sind:Nach Einführung des „Focus“ fielen die Auflagenzahlen beim SPIEGEL.Nach Einführung des „Focus“ sanken das Anzeigenaufkommen des SPIEGEL.

Germany in the 20th century endured two world wars, a failed democracy, Hitler's dictatorship, the Holocaust, and a country divided for 40 years after World War II. But it has also boasted a strong welfare state, affluence, liberalization and globalization, a successful democracy, and the longest period of peace in European history. A History of Twentieth-Century Germany provides a survey of German history during a century of extremes. Ulrich Herbert sees German history in the 20th century as determined by two contradictory perspectives. On one hand, there are the world wars and great catastrophes that divide the country's history into two parts-before and after 1945. Germany is the birthplace of radical ideologies of the left and right and the only country in which each ideology became the foundation of government. This pattern left its stamp on both the first and second halves of the century.
