If you could meet yourself, come face-to-face with the person you truly are, would you want to? This is the question Samuel L. Jones asks himself in "The Man I Never Knew: How Leadership Can Be Developed by Faith, Family, and Friends." A native of the Mississippi Delta and former college athlete, Dr. Jones earned a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and earned a PhD from Mississippi State University. He eventually became the dean of student affairs at Jones County Junior College. However, he realizes all too well that his life could have taken a different path, one of failure and hopelessness. In exploring the influences and opportunities that prepared him for a position of leadership, Dr. Jones inspires us to examine our own experiences and discover the leadership skills that are hidden within each of us. About the Author Samuel L. Jones received his doctorate in community college leadership from Mississippi State University in 2006. He also has a bachelor's degree in advertising (1997) and a master's degree in public relations (2002) from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is currently the dean of student affairs at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. Jones has held several campus positions prior to becoming the dean of student affairs. He served as the assistant basketball coach from 1999 to 2003, student recruiter from 1999 to 2006, and assistant dean from 2003 to 2006. Having spent ten years developing his leadership skills in athletics and the administration forum, he is committed to being a trailblazer in the lives of his students and his community.

“What would happen if Harry met Sally in the age of Tinder and Snapchat? . . . A field guide to Millennial dating in New York City” (New York Daily News). When New York–based graphic designers and long-time friends Timothy Goodman and Jessica Walsh found themselves single at the same time, they decided to try an experiment. The old adage says that it takes forty days to change a habit—could the same be said for love? So they agreed to date each other for forty days, record their experiences in questionnaires, photographs, videos, texts, and artworks, and post the material on a website they would create for this purpose. What began as a small experiment between two friends became an Internet sensation, drawing five million unique (and obsessed) visitors from around the globe to their site and their story. 40 Days of Dating: An Experiment is a beautifully designed, expanded look at the experiment and the results, including a great deal of material that never made it onto the site, such as who they were as friends and individuals before the forty days and who they have become since.

This Truth Never Fails written by David Rynick and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-06-05 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

This Truth Never Fails is a playful yet well-grounded narrative of a year in the life of an unusual Zen master. Far from the silent and detached stereotype of Zen teachers, Rynick writes with disarming humor, offering both the struggles and the joys of ordinary life as opportunities for insight. Anyone looking for inspiration to bring a simple spiritual awareness into their daily lives, and also those interested in finding ways to more deeply integrate faith (in any tradition) with practice will find this book reassuring and encouraging. This book appeals to the broad "mindfulness" and "general spirituality" audiences that transcend any one formal tradition. Leaning toward Anne Lamott's humor, universal spirituality, and Mary Oliver's love of the natural world, Rynick's writing bypasses Zen theory and doctrine. Simple, clear prose illustrates, vividly, an insightful and tender appreciation of ordinary life as the Way itself. Includes a brief "study guide for further inquiry" offering opportunities for personal reflection and exploration on themes touched on in the book.
