You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Genesis‬ ‭50:20‬ NIV Karl died and would have been buried, But God! After he coded, he was confirmed dead for over six minutes. We prayed, we believed and we received the miracle as Karl arose from the dead. The enemy tried to shake our faith, but what he didn't know was that all his nefarious plots would have been foiled, as our faith in God grew to greater leaps and bounds. "For we know that all things shall work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) In every situation, God always has the final say. "The Story of Kings" will let you know that God is still doing what man cannot: the miraculous. God does the impossible, the incredible, the immeasurable, there is nothing that God cannot do. What He cannot do does not exist!

"A masterpiece of contemporary Bible translation and commentary."—Los Angeles Times Book Review, Best Books of 1999 Acclaimed for its masterful new translation and insightful commentary, The David Story is a fresh, vivid rendition of one of the great works in Western literature. Robert Alter's brilliant translation gives us David, the beautiful, musical hero who slays Goliath and, through his struggles with Saul, advances to the kingship of Israel. But this David is also fully human: an ambitious, calculating man who navigates his life's course with a flawed moral vision. The consequences for him, his family, and his nation are tragic and bloody. Historical personage and full-blooded imagining, David is the creation of a literary artist comparable to the Shakespeare of the history plays.

Geoffrey P. Miller argues that the narratives from Genesis to Second Kings present a sophisticated argument for political obligation and for limited monarchy as the best form of government. The Hebrew Bible, in this sense, can be considered as one of the earliest political philosopies of the western world. The Garden of Eden story identifies revelation, consent, utopia, natural law, ownership, power, patriarchy, and justice as bases for political obligation. The stories of life after the expulsion from Eden argue that government and law are essential for a decent life. The Genesis narratives recognize patriarchal authority but also identifies limits based on kinship, higher authority and power. The book of Exodus introduces the topic of political authority, arguing that nationhood strictly dominates over other forms of political organization. The Sinai narratives explore two important sources of authority: revelation and consent of the governed. The book of Joshua presents a theory of sovereignty conceived of as the exclusive and absolute control over territory. The book of Judges examines two types of national government: military rule and confederacy. It argues that military rule is inappropriate for peacetime conditions and that the confederate form is not strong enough to deliver the benefits of nationhood. The books of Samuel and Kings consider theocracy and monarchy. The bible endorses monarchy as the best available form of government provided that the king is constrained by appropriate checks and balances. Contrary to the view of some scholars, no text from Genesis to Second Kings disapproves of monarchy as a form of government.

The apostle Paul admonished the believers in Rome to diligently study what was written in earlier (i.e., Old Testament) times because what was written was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope (Romans 15:4). No where is this truth more evident that in the books of Kings. Some trod the path of righteousness, others did not. To turn people into the way of peace and blessing the Lord sent His servants the prophets to warn individuals and the nation of Israel of the consequences of their actions. Some of these prophets, like Elijah and Elisha are well known, others are given a place in the inspired record even though little is known of them. This is a plain, highly readable, study that pastors, college students, seminarians, and lay people will find helpful. Throughout this commentary Dr. Barber, like the householder whom the Lord Jesus described in Matthew 13:52 brings out of his treasure things old and new.

The books of Kings view Israel's history through the theological lens of action. Actions have consequences that are determined by the people's faithfulness or unfaithfulness to their God and the covenant, and the editors' purpose is to demonstrate that the monarchy stands or falls on its faithfulness to its God. The books of Kings, though in real ways foreign to the twenty-first century, contain content that resonates with our contemporary experience. They raise an array of questions: In the relationships between and among individuals and between and among nations, what constitutes loyalty? What behaviors exact justice? What are the demands of being in a covenant relationship with God? What does it mean to be faithful to that relationship? What risks are we willing to take? How do we pray? Where do we look for the power of God? The insights gleaned from engaging these questions can shed a unique light on our contemporary lives.

The God Kings Of Europe written by Hugh Montgomery and has been published by Book Tree this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with History categories.

After many years of research and with the help of scholars from around the world, Professor Hugh Montgomery has released a book that is clearly one of the most scholarly examinations of the heritage of European rulers to date. The implications of this work are enormous as they involve a lineage traced back to Odin, once believed to be a Norse god, whose lineage then merged with the bloodline of Jesus Christ himself. Those who have dismissed the idea of a lineage from Jesus have given credence to popular fiction and what many would consider flawed research, as until now, that is all that has been commercially available. This is a subject whose time has come, with a well-researched book that goes far beyond mere speculation. This work fills in many holes that existed previously in this subject area and brings all the relevant pieces together in one place for the first time. It is a must read for all those interested in the truths behind "The Da Vinci Code" and in the way Europe has been ruled for centuries.
