The Hacker Way is the first episode in the Node Chronicles technology adventure. One of the first truly interactive graphic novels designed to inspire teenagers to learn about advanced technology. Readers of all ages will find the answers they've been looking for in this incredibly well illustrated interactive graphic novel, with both fiction and non-fiction elements about our technology history, present, and future. The book delves into Git, Coding, Energy, Quantum Mechanics, Circuitry, and Hardware Hacking while making things simple and easy to understand. Intrigued readers can scan collectible items such as Symbols, Objects, Periodic Elements, and Legendary Icon Character Cards to build their own knowledge database. Gou Sokyeo, the main character, along with his brother, sister, and friends, sends users out on a wild guided adventure using symbols that represent the most important technical elements. When scanned and detected using the NodeChron machine vision app, each collectible unlocks interactive animated content, doles out digital assets, and generates a highly satisfying gamified experience. Users can interact with the Node Chronicles' characters, answer existential questions about their feelings towards a specific technology, and dig deep into advanced topics ranging from Electromagnetism to Qutrits and Photons. In the book(s), users can also examine practical tutorials such as connecting and making machines talk with each other using SSH and how to write their first Python program that interacts with a GPGIO. Author Franck Jones applies his 20 years of software development and product design experience using a simplified writing approach. Simultaneously, the talented Christian Colbert illustrates incredible action, emotion, and sequential storytelling for a real-world technology-infused comic book where readers become real-world superheroes.

Chronicles Formalization Of A Temporal Model written by Thomas Guyet and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-07-25 with Computers categories.

This book is intended as an introduction to a versatile model for temporal data. It exhibits an original lattice structure on the space of chronicles and proposes new counting approach for multiple occurrences of chronicle occurrences. This book also proposes a new approach for frequent temporal pattern mining using pattern structures. This book was initiated by the work of Ch. Dousson in the 1990’s. At that time, the prominent format was Temporal Constraint Networks for which the article by Richter, Meiri and Pearl is seminal. Chronicles do not conflict with temporal constraint networks, they are closely related. Not only do they share a similar graphical representation, they also have in common a notion of constraints in the timed succession of events. However, chronicles are definitely oriented towards fairly specific tasks in handling temporal data, by making explicit certain aspects of temporal data such as repetitions of an event. The notion of chronicle has been applied both for situation recognition and temporal sequence abstraction. The first challenge benefits from the simple but expressive formalism to specify temporal behavior to match in a temporal sequence. The second challenge aims to abstract a collection of sequences by chronicles with the objective to extract characteristic behaviors. This book targets researchers and students in computer science (from logic to data science). Engineers who would like to develop algorithms based on temporal models will also find this book useful.

Welcome to the Advanced Workshop on Content Computing 2004. The focus of this workshop was "Content Computing". It emphasized research areas that facilitate efficient, appropriate dissemination of content to users with the necessary access rights. We use the word "content" instead of "information" or "data" because we want to cover not only raw data but also presentation quality. The fast growth of the Internet has already made it the key infrastructure for information dissemination, education, business and entertainment. While the client-server model has been the most widely adopted paradigm for the WWW, the desire to provide more value-added services in the delivery layer has led to the concept of an active network, where content-driven, intelligent computation will be performed to provide quality-of-service for content presentation and best-?t client demand. These value-added services typically aim to enhance information security, provide pervasive Internet access, and improve application robustness, system/network performance, knowledge extraction, etc. They are realized by incorporating sophisticated mechanisms at the delivery layer, which is transparent to the content providers and Web surfers. Consequently, the notion of "Content Computing" has emerged. Content computing is a new paradigm for coordinating distributed systems and intelligent networks, based on a peer-to-peer model and with value-added processing of the application-specific contents at the - livery layer. This paradigm is especially useful to pervasive lightweight client devices such as mobile and portable end-user terminals with a wide variation of hardware/software configurations. This year, the workshop was held in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China. We received 194 high-quality papers from 11 regions, namely PR China, Korea, Singapore, Japan, United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Taiwan, Italy, and Hong Kong. Totally, 62 papers were accepted and presented in the workshop.

Jungle Passports written by Malini Sur and has been published by University of Pennsylvania Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-08-06 with Social Science categories.

Since the nineteenth century, a succession of states has classified the inhabitants of what are now the borderlands of Northeast India and Bangladesh as Muslim "frontier peasants," "savage mountaineers," and Christian "ethnic minorities," suspecting them to be disloyal subjects, spies, and traitors. In Jungle Passports Malini Sur follows the struggles of these people to secure shifting land, gain access to rice harvests, and smuggle the cattle and garments upon which their livelihoods depend against a background of violence, scarcity, and India's construction of one of the world's longest and most highly militarized border fences. Jungle Passports recasts established notions of citizenship and mobility along violent borders. Sur shows how the division of sovereignties and distinct regimes of mobility and citizenship push undocumented people to undertake perilous journeys across previously unrecognized borders every day. Paying close attention to the forces that shape the life-worlds of deportees, refugees, farmers, smugglers, migrants, bureaucrats, lawyers, clergy, and border troops, she reveals how reciprocity and kinship and the enforcement of state violence, illegality, and border infrastructures shape the margins of life and death. Combining years of ethnographic and archival fieldwork, her thoughtful and evocative book is a poignant testament to the force of life in our era of closed borders, insularity, and "illegal migration."
