Updates from unremarked dates material used in the Institute's vacation schools at Surrey University, which over the past 15 years have become the de-facto industry standard in satellite communications. The approach concentrates on the design and planning of systems, includes little theory, and just quotes equations rather than deriving them. New material has been added on the history and background of the field; the business aspects of satellite communications; and on new applications in mobile and personal communication systems, multimedia systems, military business and small satellites, navigation, and positioning. Graduate, undergraduate, and practicing engineers should benefit from the treatment. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR

"Communication Systems is based on the syllabi of the various universities, covering all the theoretical and mathematical aspects related to topics. The language used in explaining various concepts is extremely simple and understandable. Since proper understanding of the subject would involve a serious attempt to solve a variety of problems, a wide variety of problems with their step by step solutions are provided for every concept. This book will serve the purpose of a text to engineering students of degree, diploma AMIE and a useful reference for students preparing for GATE, UPSC and other technical competitive exams. Keeping above points in mind this book has been developed right from the basic principles of the communication system and to its zenith in the development of analog communication techniques so far. A set of questions has been given at the end for the readers to increase their understanding of the subject and to encourage further reading. "

Introduction To Random Signals And Noise written by Wim C. Van Etten and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-02-03 with Science categories.
Random signals and noise are present in many engineering systems and networks. Signal processing techniques allow engineers to distinguish between useful signals in audio, video or communication equipment, and interference, which disturbs the desired signal. With a strong mathematical grounding, this text provides a clear introduction to the fundamentals of stochastic processes and their practical applications to random signals and noise. With worked examples, problems, and detailed appendices, Introduction to Random Signals and Noise gives the reader the knowledge to design optimum systems for effectively coping with unwanted signals. Key features: Considers a wide range of signals and noise, including analogue, discrete-time and bandpass signals in both time and frequency domains. Analyses the basics of digital signal detection using matched filtering, signal space representation and correlation receiver. Examines optimal filtering methods and their consequences. Presents a detailed discussion of the topic of Poisson processes and shot noise. An excellent resource for professional engineers developing communication systems, semiconductor devices, and audio and video equipment, this book is also ideal for senior undergraduate and graduate students in Electronic and Electrical Engineering.

Discrete Communication Systems written by Stevan Berber and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This is the first textbook which presents the theory of pure discrete communication systems and its relation to the existing theory of digital and analog communications at a graduate level. Based on the orthogonality principles and theory of discrete time stochastic processes, a generic structure of communication systems, based on correlation demodulation and optimum detection, is developed and presented in the form of mathematical operators with precisely defined inputs and outputs and related functions. Based on this generic structure, the traditionally defined phase shift keying (PSK), frequency shift keying (FSK), quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and code division multiple access (CDMA) systems are deduced as its special cases. The main chapters, presenting the theory of communications, are supported by a set of supplementary chapters containing the theory of deterministic and stochastic signal processing, which makes the book a self-contained presentation of the subject. The book uses unified notation and unified terminology, which allows a clear distinction between deterministic and stochastic signals, power signals and energy signals, discrete time signals and processes and continuous time signals and processes, and an easy way of understanding the differences in defining the correlation functions, power and energy spectral densities, and amplitudes and power spectra of the mentioned signals and processes. In addition to solved examples in the text, about 300 solved problems are available to readers in the supplementary material that aim to enhance the understanding of the theory in the text. In addition, five research Projects are added to be used by lecturers or instructors that aim to enhance the understanding of theory and to establish its relation to the practice.
