Since it has long been said that "the customer is always right", this book will dispel the rumor. The fact of the matter is that the statement has always been false. Customers are not only wrong they are shady, diabolical and even criminal when you get right down too it. This book is a collection of stories involving customers and their abilities to be crazy, stupid and down right awful. Every story is true and everything in these stories actually happened. Believe that.

We're conditioned to believe a house is the best investment we can make, yet it is not so cut and dry. This analysis shows why renting may not be as bad of a decision - even more favorable than owning. And why owning a house is not as advantageous as what conventional wisdom would propose.

Rental housing has remained a neglected area of national housing policy which has instead focused, often exclusively, on promoting home ownership. Consequently, rental housing has been overlooked with very few governments implementing any kind of policy to help develop or regulate this form of housing. Yet rental housing is a key component of a well-functioning housing market. While renting is not the panacea to solving the housing challenge in the developing world, it does constitute a significant and vital housing tenure option that should be promoted alongside, not in competition to, home ownership.

Termination Of Tenancies For Tenant Default written by Great Britain: Law Commission and has been published by The Stationery Office this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-10-31 with Law categories.

Following on from a consultation paper (Consultation paper 174; ISBN 0117302562) published in January 2004, this report contains proposals for reform of the law regarding the termination of a tenancy during its term, by a landlord, due to the tenant having broken the terms of the tenancy agreement. It sets out, in the form of a draft Bill, a new statutory scheme for the termination of tenancies, including a new concept of 'tenant default', to replace the current law of forfeiture. The proposed scheme would define the circumstances in which a landlord may seek to terminate a tenancy early, require the landlord to warn the tenant of the impending action by giving a written notice, and confers enhanced protection on those with interests deriving out of the tenancy. The report is divided into eight parts with three appendices, and issues considered include: problems with the current law of forfeiture of tenancies and the case for reform; the various components of the proposed scheme, including the concept of tenant default and the stages of a landlord's 'termination claim'; and the role of the court.

Resistence is more important than ever. Living in a country with a president we did not elect, who is waging a war without popular support, vast numbers of Americans are feeling disempowered, alienated from our government leaders, and frightened. What can we do? The British activists from the 1990s documented in Not For Rent have some ideas to share with us. In 1995 the British Parliament passed a draconian new law which curtailed civil liberties to a shocking extent. The Criminal Justice Act essentially turned squatting, underground parties and raves, a nomadic lifestyle, and protesting into criminal acts. Travelling through England and Scotland the summer after this law went into effect, Stacy and Grrrt discovered that not only were squatting, protesting and parties still happening, the law had politicized an entire generation. More and more young people felt compelled to resist -- both to show their disregard for a government which did not represent them, and to create exciting, creative alternatives to the mainstream culture. The activist underground was thriving. The way Bush's government has used the events of September 11th to pick away at our civil liberties is reminiscent of this time. The numbers of frustrated people who have taken to the streets to protest his war show how widespread the disillusionment with his government is. But Not for Rent is not a book about unjust laws. It is a vibrant celebration of creative resistence, political alternatives, and social engagment. It is about what is possible when smart, socially conscious people get together and create communties on their own terms. Use it for inspiration!

This is a conversational book with chapters directly followed by responses from experts. The main authors propose that the failure in development is not due to capitalism but rather rentism, which is earnings based on political rather market returns. Rent prevents development and ingrains social and economic inequalities. Using the case study of Brazil’s economic development, it is shown how development fails because policies Brazil and other low to middle-income countries promote do not overcome the main obstacle to development - rent. The overcoming of rent would occur within a model of globalisation whereby the advanced economics still prosper concurrently as the poorest countries grow, all underpinned by international organisations defending a rule-based globalisation. Not Paying the Rent: Imagining a Fairer Capitalism presents a new application of the theory of rent, both historically in the case of Brazil, and in practical terms in tackling it through modern international organisations. It will be relevant to students, researchers, and general readers interested in inequality and development economics.
