Karena kehidupan ini tidak gratis, maka langkah terbaik adalah menjalani hidup dengan baik, agar bayaran yang kita berikan tidak sia-sia. Apa arti menjadi tua, jika yang bisa kita banggakan hanyalah usia semata? Apa arti memiliki banyak pengalaman, jika kita tidak pernah belajar pada pengalaman yang dimiliki? Apa arti menjalani hidup, jika kita tidak memahami kehidupan yang dijalani? Kehidupan adalah sekolah yang lebih besar, dan kita semua belajar di dalamnya. Jika satu pelajaran diberikan dan kita bisa memahami, pelajaran yang lebih tinggi akan diberikan. Tetapi jika satu pelajaran diberikan namun kita tidak juga memahami, maka pelajaran yang sama akan terus diberikan, berulang-ulang, dengan berbagai cara, sampai kita benar-benar paham. Akhirnya, setiap kita baru bisa disebut lulus dari sekolah bernama kehidupan ini jika telah berhasil menjadi manusia... seutuh-utuhnya manusia. Dalam hidup, kita semua sedang belajar menjadi manusia, terus belajar agar hidup ini menjadi lebih bermakna.
