Finalmente el autor propone un modelo sencillo de evolución económica de Galicia durante el siglo XVIII y hace un estudio de los contrastes regionales existentes entre Galicia y los otros países peninsulares en el contexto de la España del antiguo régimen. Jaime García-Lombardero, Doctor en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales, es actualmente profesor de Historia Económica en la Facultad de esa misma especialidad de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
