Este trabalho apresenta uma metodologia de ensino de História que visa dinamizar aulas com conteúdos ligados à Antiguidade Clássica e a outros objetos de conhecimento por meio do uso de Heavy Metal em sala de aula como recurso didático, partindo de estudos que analisam as áreas de Ensino de História e Música e apresentando, como produto final, uma proposta de disciplina eletiva dentro do novo Ensino Médio, orientado por objetivos e habilidades da BNCC, em especial com uma sequência didática, a partir da canção "Alexander The Great", da banda britânica Iron Maiden, lançada em 1986, observando a sincronia entre o ritmo, a narrativa, a estética visual encontrada nas artes de divulgação (capas dos discos, palco, videoclipes) e as contribuições desse tipo de material na aprendizagem do alunado, bem como o engajamento dos discentes. Ao longo do trabalho, desenvolvo reflexões sobre as colaborações que esse estilo musical forneceu no decorrer da minha própria formação acadêmica, da minha experiência profissional como professor de História. A história da utilização da música com objetivos educacionais demonstra que, mesmo sendo um recurso consolidado, ainda é pouco utilizado na educação brasileira, precisando de incentivos diversos para deixar os docentes confiantes em usar e/ou adaptar qualquer estilo que facilite a construção de compreensão e significância dos conteúdos histórico-escolares.
