Em 1933 trabalhou como economista para um banco de investimento, em Londres. Cinco anos depois dava aulas de Filosofia e Politica no Colegio Bennington, em Vermont, Nova Inglaterra, e mais tarde foi professor de Gest?o na New York University. Durante a sua carreira, para alem das cerca de 30 obras de referencia que escreveu, traduzidas em mais de 20 linguas, foi consultor de grandes empresas. Desde 1971 da aulas de Ciencia Politica e Gest?o na Claremont Graduate School (California), que em 1987 redimensionou o seu centro de Gest?o, mudando-lhe o nome para Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management. Um dos seus hobbies e a arte japonesa e deu seminarios sobre o tema nessa mesma escola. Nos anos 70 fez parte da direc?o do Museu de Arte Asiatica de S?o Francisco. Entre 1975 e 1995 foi colunista mensal do "Wall Street Journal". Peter Drucker criou, em 1990, uma fundac?o cujo nome e "The Peter F. Drucker Foundation for non profit management" com a miss?o de "ajudar o setor social a alcancar a excelencia no desempenho e criar cidadania responsavel". O autor tem quatro filhos e seis netos e vive atualmente em Claremont (California) com a mulher.
