A sociedade em rede aponta para um novo fazer jornalístico a partir das potencialidades advindas das tecnologias de informação e comunicação. Assim, nesses tempos de hiperconexão, a prática jornalística passa por transformações ainda em curso e pouco compreendidas. É deste cenário que surge nossa inquietude para estudar e teorizar sobre as novas configurações apresentadas no tocante aos gêneros e formatos jornalísticos na web, uma vez que são elementos centrais e estruturantes da prática jornalística. O objetivo geral este livro está focado em descobrir como ocorre a produção jornalística na web e qual a relação que esses produtos jornalísticos possuem com as atuais classificações de gêneros e formatos. Como objetivos específicos, buscou-se atender aos seguintes: debater teoricamente sobre gêneros e formatos jornalísticos; compreender o webjornalismo; analisar nos principais sites jornalísticos do país a produção para a web de gêneros e formatos da esfera jornalística; verificar se as atuais teorizações de gêneros e formatos para internet, analisados em nossa pesquisa, correspondem à prática; relacionar as classificações de gêneros e formatos às características do webjornalismo com o que é utilizado nos sites jornalísticos analisados. Cabe salientar que estruturamos este livro em três capítulos: dois teóricos e o último baseado na teoria fundamentada em dados. No primeiro capítulo, buscamos compreender o jornalismo feito para a web, o que significou ser necessário entender questões estruturais que envolvem o conceito de web e a compreensão das fases pelas quais ela passou, bem como o entendimento do jornalismo nesse novo suporte, passando pelas diferentes nomenclaturas que envolvem essa prática e pelas características que estruturam o webjornalismo. Essa discussão precisou ser contextualizada à luz de questões teóricas mais amplas, isto é, que levam em conta as mudanças sociais e tecnológicas, levando-nos a perpassar por conceitos como o da cibercultura, o da convergência e o da sociedade em rede. O segundo capítulo teve como foco a compreensão das narrativas jornalísticas e das formas que as estruturam. Para isso, foi necessário, primeiramente, compreender o conceito de jornalismo e as transformações pelas quais ele passou para, na sequência, discutirmos questões atreladas às narrativas, entre elas os gêneros e formatos jornalísticos; assuntos centrais desta pesquisa. Ainda nesse capítulo contextualizamos historicamente os gêneros até chegarmos à discussão específica dos cibergêneros jornalísticos e seus formatos. O terceiro capítulo contempla a explicação e a aplicação da teoria fundamentada em dados. Para isso, traz a discussão de todo o percurso metodológico desenvolvido, contextualiza os principais webjornais do país que compõem a amostra da pesquisa e discute os dados coletados e interpretados durante a Macroanálise e refinados na Microanálise.
