Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject Didactics - Computer Science, University of Burdwan (The University of Burdwan), language: English, abstract: E-learning is the term used to describe the use of the web and other Internet technologies in terms of enhancing the teaching and learning experience. It shares similar properties of other e-services. The development of E-Learning has subsequently led to a new way of learning. E-Learning is naturally suited to distance learning & flexible learning. As a consequence of E-Learning having to depend on the Internet or especially via web applications, the E-Learning environment has also become affected by security threats. With this inconsideration, this papers aims to explore how to develop a simple object oriented model of E-Learning system for E-Education & give some primary security to protect its contents. The most of E-Learning system was developed the program according to the process oriented method by CGI, but after developing this method is difficult to reuse, maintain & repair. In this paper to develop an efficient design we use object-oriented modeling & UML [6] modeling. In this ever changing world of object oriented development, it has been getting harder & harder to develop & manage high quality applications in a reasonable amount of time.UML is a the information Technology industry’s version of a blueprint. It is a method for describing the systems architecture in detail

Uml Classroom written by Martina Seidl and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-02-21 with Computers categories.

This textbook mainly addresses beginners and readers with a basic knowledge of object-oriented programming languages like Java or C#, but with little or no modeling or software engineering experience – thus reflecting the majority of students in introductory courses at universities. Using UML, it introduces basic modeling concepts in a highly precise manner, while refraining from the interpretation of rare special cases. After a brief explanation of why modeling is an indispensable part of software development, the authors introduce the individual diagram types of UML (the class and object diagram, the sequence diagram, the state machine diagram, the activity diagram, and the use case diagram), as well as their interrelationships, in a step-by-step manner. The topics covered include not only the syntax and the semantics of the individual language elements, but also pragmatic aspects, i.e., how to use them wisely at various stages in the software development process. To this end, the work is complemented with examples that were carefully selected for their educational and illustrative value. Overall, the book provides a solid foundation and deeper understanding of the most important object-oriented modeling concepts and their application in software development. An additional website offers a complete set of slides to aid in teaching the contents of the book, exercises and further e-learning material.

This monograph provides a comprehensive research review of intelligent techniques for personalisation of e-learning systems. Special emphasis is given to intelligent tutoring systems as a particular class of e-learning systems, which support and improve the learning and teaching of domain-specific knowledge. A new approach to perform effective personalization based on Semantic web technologies achieved in a tutoring system is presented. This approach incorporates a recommender system based on collaborative tagging techniques that adapts to the interests and level of students' knowledge. These innovations are important contributions of this monograph. Theoretical models and techniques are illustrated on a real personalised tutoring system for teaching Java programming language. The monograph is directed to, students and researchers interested in the e-learning and personalization techniques.

This book presents recent research in mobile learning and advanced user interfaces. It is shown how the combination of these fields can result in personalized educational software that meets the requirements of state-of-the-art mobile learning software. This book provides a framework that is capable of incorporating the software technologies, exploiting a wide range of their current advances and additionally investigating ways to go even further by providing potential solutions to future challenges. The presented approach uses the well-known Object-Oriented method in order to address these challenges. Throughout this book, a general model is constructed using Object-Oriented Architecture. Each chapter focuses on the construction of a specific part of this model, while in the conclusion these parts are unified. This book will help software engineers build more sophisticated personalized software that targets in mobile education, while at the same time retaining a high level of adaptivity and user-friendliness within human-mobile interaction.

Flexible Elearning Platforms written by Peter Westerkamp and has been published by Logos Verlag Berlin this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Educational innovations categories.

Although the benefits of Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) are well-understood in the area of software engineering, e-learning platforms are commonly still implemented in the form of monolithic applications. The latter resemble one another to a large extend, but a reuse of functionalities between platforms in the form of services is uncommon or impossible. The reuse of e-learning content is addressed by many competing standards and specifications making the physical exchange of these learning objects difficult. The book of Peter Westerkamp transfers the concepts of SOAs to the field of e-learning. It starts with a short overview of the e-learning field and discusses different approaches to implement a SOA for e-learning. In addition, it defines reasonable e-learning services based on existing e-learning architecture standards. It turns out that the consequent design and implementation of e-learning functionalities in the form of Web services provides mechanisms to reuse e-learning functionalities and to create flexible platforms that can easily be adapted to the individual needs of learners. By using already existing standards from the field of Web services, functionalities can easily be integrated. Content, too, is delivered in the form of Web services, which makes a physical distribution of learning objects obsolete. This means that several e-learning standards and specifications are also obsolete because content is stored only once on the server of the content provider and accessed via Web services. The book covers models of the internal and external architecture of a Web-services-based e-learning environment. The service concept for e-learning is implemented in the LearnServe environment and can be interpreted as a more general model for elearning Web services. The book also covers economical and organizational perspectives of e-learning Web services and discusses differences to monolithic platforms.

Building An Intelligent Assisted Instructional Design System written by Shian-Shyong Tseng and has been published by Nova Science Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with Computers categories.

With the rapid growth of Internet, E-learning systems have become more and more popular because they can enable learners to study at any time and any location, so the need of learning resources and instructional design is also increasing rapidly. Many international standards have been proposed to model the structures and guiding rules of learning activities for the purpose of sharing and reusing. However, there are still no effective models to describe complex instructional design knowledge, and the effective authoring systems of instructional design and learning content navigating sequence are also required. Moreover, without an intelligent knowledge management scheme, the huge amount of learning resources will confuse the teachers in learning activity design. It implies that how to visualise and integrate the heterogeneous instructional design and navigating sequence knowledge in a learning platform becomes an important issue. Therefore, the author proposes an Intelligent Assisted Instructional Design System (IAIDS), which is an instructional design expert system consisting of Knowledge Representation (KR) module to model the instructional design graphically, knowledge acquisition (KA) module to assist teachers to edit instructional design and navigating sequence efficiently, Knowledge Management (KM) module to support teachers to manage and retrieve learning contents in repositories, and Knowledge Inference (KI) module to display the learning activity in a portable and modifiable platform.
