Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Im Niedersächsischen Schulgesetz (§14 Abs. 4) wurde 1993 beschlossen, Sonderschulen als Förderzentren neu zu organisieren, um die Sonderschüler in den Unterricht der Regelschulen zu integrieren. In einer „Rahmenplanung für die Fortführung der Integration von Schülerinnen und Schülern mit sonderpädagogischem Förderbedarf“ wurde 1998 die Vorgehensweise weiter ausdifferenziert (Niedersächsisches Kultusministerium 1998). In dieser Rahmenplanung wird lediglich der neue Status von Sonderschulen und die organisatorische Herausforderung beschrieben. Es wird hier nicht die Chance einer veränderten Didaktik für tatsächlichen gemeinsamen Unterricht (z. B. durch Offenen Unterricht und innere Differenzierung) erwähnt. Doch gerade diese integrative Didaktik ist der wesentliche Bestandteil von schulischer Integration. Es geht mir um die Frage, wie und mit welchen didaktischen Methoden integrative Erziehung am sinnvollsten zu realisieren ist, und welchen Nutzten alle Kinder und Jugendlichen davon haben. Auf zwei Unterrichtsmethoden gehe ich anhand einer Fallstudie ausführlicher ein, dem Projektunterricht und dem Wochenplanunterricht. Wie können Pädagogen gute Bedingungen für Integration schaffen? Ist der Offene Unterricht überhaupt geeignet für gemeinsames Lernen mit behinderten und nichtbehinderten Kindern? Was sind die Prinzipien von Offenem Unterricht? Die Chancen für Integration liegen natürlich nicht nur in einem didaktischen Modell, sondern auch in den gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen. Daher möchte ich auch den gesamtgesellschaftlichen Aspekt ansprechen. Was können die Indikatoren für den integrativen Prozeß sein? Die Verbundstudie Ganztagsorganisation im Grundschulbereich befasst sich mit den Auswirkungen dieser Umstellung auf die schulischen Leistungen von Kindern, insbesondere aus bildungsfernen Schichten. In diesem Band werden die Rahmenbedingungen des Ausbaus von Ganztagsschulen dargestellt. Außerdem werden die Anlage der Studie Ganztagsorganisation im Grundschulbereich erläutert und erste deskriptive Ergebnisse vorgestellt. Die Studie untersucht Grundschulen in den Bundesländern Berlin, Brandenburg und Nordrhein-Westfalen, zu den für diesen Band ausgewerteten Verfahren der Datenerhebung gehören u.a. Befragungen der Schulleiter/-innen, der Lehrkräfte und des weiteren pädagogischen Personals sowie Unterrichtsbeobachtungen. First published in 1980, Progress and Performance in the Primary Classroom assesses the performance of primary schoolchildren in a range of study skills as well as on the more conventional tests of mathematics, language use and reading. The findings indicate that the more successful styles are used by the more experienced teachers, who manage to increase the amount of contact with the pupils by a variety of organizational strategies. While pupils who receive the greatest amount of class teaching do best on mathematics, there is no evidence to suggest that the characteristics of teaching valued by critics of modern primary practice exert any significant influence on pupil progress. The relationship between pupil progress and behaviour shows some remarkable patterns. For example, it was found that children who work on average one day per week less than other children still make the same progress in basic skills as the others. Such findings suggest that there is a need to examine how far teaching in the junior school is sufficiently stimulating and challenging, while at the same time acknowledging the difficulties of improving the situation while class sizes remain relatively high. This book will be of interest to students of education and pedagogy as well as to teachers.
