Memoirs of a 9/11 survivor; an inspiring story of how the events of September 11, 2001, changed my life. It has been over a decade since I survived the horrible attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. In the wake of that devastation I was forced to examine my life before, during, and after 9/11. This story follows my life as a normal working class African American male born and raised in the post civil rights sixties up to the horrible beginning of the new millennium. This is an amazing story of life, history, horror, spiritual growth and development. This book was not written to support any conspiracy theories or political social agendas. It is about the people, no matter how you see it. The end result of 9/11 was the loss of innocent human lives in America and in Iraq with the war that followed 9/11. This book examines the end result of failed diplomacy when world powers and religious leaders fail to resolve conflict peacefully. I love my country and I am proud to be an American. On September, 11 2001, I was ready to defend my country at all costs; however, the aftermath of 9/11 was too much to handle and left me with depression and post traumatic stress disorder. Today is a new morning, a new day, a time to create a new legacy for the world that doesn't include war and affords to all people of the world a full life and legacy for generations.

A beautiful, compact, gift edition of some of the world’s greatest poems about loss and death, to ease the heart of the bereaved Who has not suffered grief? In Mourning Songs, the brilliant poet and editor Grace Schulman has gathered together the most moving poems about sorrow by the likes of Elizabeth Bishop, William Carlos Williams, Gwendolyn Brooks, Neruda, Catullus, Dylan Thomas, W. H. Auden, Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, W. S. Merwin, Lorca, Denise Levertov, Keats, Hart Crane, Michael Palmer, Robert Frost, Hopkins, Hardy, Bei Dao, and Czeslaw Milosz—to name only some of the masters in this slim volume. “The poems in this collection,” as Schulman notes in her introduction, “sing of grief as they praise life.” She notes: “As any bereaved survivor knows, there is no consolation. ‘Time doesn’t heal grief; it emphasizes it,’ wrote Marianne Moore. The loss of a loved one never leaves us. We don’t want it to. In grief, one remembers the beloved. But running beside it, parallel to it, is the joy of existence, the love that causes pain of loss, the loss that enlarges us with the wonder of existence.”

In 2006, author Elizabeth Weber, experienced the extraordinary circumstance of losing her husband to cancer while house-sitting. Without any friends or family nearby, she found the starkness of her predicament only served to amplify her mourning process. Consequently, Elizabeth found herself going through what Joseph Campbell called "The Supreme Ordeal" in his study of "The Hero's Journey." Fortunately, she did not have to go through it completely alone. True to the mythological tales, a mentor mysteriously appeared in her life who offered a type of coaching called "The Seasons of Change" which utilizes "Natures Wisdom to Navigate through Life's Inevitable Ups and Downs." With twelve weeks of coaching as a jumpstart, Elizabeth was able to navigate her way deep into the heart of mourning. However, she soon found that finding her way out of mourning was a different story. Elizabeth's memoir, A Beautiful Mourning, is about her deeply transformative journey both into and, perhaps more importantly, out of the mourning process. Elizabeth has "Returned with the Elixir" to inspire anyone who has loved and lost—to live and love again!
