Interviews with the Infinite What does God think about what's going on down here these days? Why did He make the planet in the first place? How does He feel about romance, love and sex? What does He think of the environment, the death penalty, euthanasia and other important social issues? What's Heaven like, and-perhaps of more concern to some of us-is there a Hell and how bad is it? And what does God do for fun? God answers these and a host of other questions you've always wanted to ask Him in this absorbing collection of casual and candid interviews. What He has to say might surprise you!

Who is God? How do we even begin to answer the question? Is he so infinitely great that our words cannot possibly capture his essence? Or is God so intimately personal to our hearts and souls that it is impossible to articulate his character and nature? Yet whether God is infinitely high or intimately personal, we have one way to know God in a way we can collectively fathomthrough the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Thinking on God is an earnest and thoughtful collection of biblical and religious arguments for the proof of Gods existence, and author Don Ruhl dwells on the character of both God and humanity while helping fellow believers see how reflecting on Gods majesty and awesome power can bring us closer to him and his creation. The life and ministry of Jesus Christ play a central role in our getting to know God, and it is through Christ that we see Gods essencehis power, glory, grace, patience, mercy, holiness, and goodness. And yet in the end, it may surprise us that the King of kings will ultimately serve us, his loyal servants, in humility. We see God in his creation, and we know God through Christ. When we seek God and come to know him in all his majesty, power, and grace, we will discover who God is and be able to set a course for our lives. Let us therefore not go through a single day without thinking on God.

Kant On God written by Peter Byrne and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-02 with Religion categories.

Peter Byrne presents a detailed study of the role of the concept of God in Kant's Critical Philosophy. After a preliminary survey of the major interpretative disputes over the understanding of Kant on God, Byrne explores his critique of philosophical proofs of God’s existence. Examining Kant’s account of religious language, Byrne highlights both the realist and anti-realist elements contained within it. The notion of the highest good is then explored, with its constituent elements - happiness and virtue, in pursuit of an assessment of how far Kant establishes that we must posit God. The precise role God plays in ethics according to Kant is then examined, along with the definition of religion as the recognition of duties as divine commands. Byrne also plots Kant’s critical re-working of the concept of grace. The book closes with a survey of the relation between the Critical Philosophy and Christianity on the one hand and deism on the other.

Here Am I written by Adrio Konig and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-08-01 with Religion categories.

Adrio Kšnig is among those theologians in South Africa who are attempting to break away from a traditional fundamentalist approach to the Bible typical of an older Dutch generation raised on the Neo-Calvinism of Abraham Kuyper. This younger generation of Reformed theologians from South Africa wants to make use of a far wider theological spectrum than merely the Netherlands. This book, focusing on the doctrine of God, is an excellent example of contemporary theological thinking by an outstanding member of this generation. Kšnig strongly asserts that his book is unlike most doctrines of God in that it is not about God-in-himself as is most scholastic and classical Protestant theology, but rather about God in certain relationships: While God does exist over and above his relationships and his actions and is thus more and greater than his deeds and relationships . . . it is only through his deeds and relationships that we know God. Kšnig goes on to explore specifically four relationships--God to the gods, God to man, God to history, and God to the future.

On God written by Norman Mailer and has been published by Random House Trade Paperbacks this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-11-04 with Religion categories.

“I see God,” wrote Norman Mailer, “as a Creator, as the greatest artist. I see human beings as His most developed artworks.” In these moving, amusing, and probing dialogues conducted in the years before his death, Mailer establishes his own system of belief, rejecting both organized religion and atheism. He avows that sensual pleasures were bestowed on us by God; he finds fault with the Ten Commandments; and he holds that technology was the Devil’s most brilliant creation. In short, Mailer is original and unpredictable in this inspiring journey, in which “God needs us as much as we need God.” Praise for On God “[Norman Mailer’s] theology is not theoretical to him. After eight decades, it is what he believes. He expects no adherents, and does not profess to be a prophet, but he has worked to forge his beliefs into a coherent catechism.”—New York “The glory of an original mind in full provocation.”—USA Today “At once illuminating and exciting . . . a chance to see Mailer’s intellect as well as his lively conversational style of speech.”—American Jewish Life “Remarkable . . . [Mailer’s] a believer—in his own fashion. . . . He has made [God] into a complex character.”—The Globe and Mail Praise for Norman Mailer “[Norman Mailer] loomed over American letters longer and larger than any other writer of his generation.”—The New York Times “A writer of the greatest and most reckless talent.”—The New Yorker “Mailer is indispensable, an American treasure.”—The Washington Post “A devastatingly alive and original creative mind.”—Life “Mailer is fierce, courageous, and reckless and nearly everything he writes has sections of headlong brilliance.”—The New York Review of Books “The largest mind and imagination [in modern] American literature . . . Unlike just about every American writer since Henry James, Mailer has managed to grow and become richer in wisdom with each new book.”—Chicago Tribune “Mailer is a master of his craft. His language carries you through the story like a leaf on a stream.”—The Cincinnati Post

When I was born again, there was a book that helped me learn about Christianity. Decades later, this book is written in a similar format with the hope that it will help someone else. This account roots in the notion of a Christian. The fundamental concepts of God, Jesus, and sin make the trunk. Branching outward, this tree of knowledge fills out with perspective on Christian topics. I invite all who want an honest discussion and perhaps a different perspective to read this book.

I read the Bible as an intellectual exercise as well as a spiritual one. I wanted to read about those who walked and talked with God. I wanted to learn about the prophets and writers of accepted sacred scripture. There are many quotes taken from the Bible, and many quotes on the Bible. People are always commenting on God. Atheists are obsessed with God or the lack thereof. There are a lot of thoughts on God out there. Some are captured within this book and their purpose is to raise spiritual awareness in all of us. I was looking to feel the love from God for mankind right from the start when God created man, and man immediately started recreating God. God created us in his image, and we started recreating God through anthropomorphism, or attempting to change his divinity into humanity so we could better understand him. Reading through the New Testament, I found that the number three has divine significance which figured largely in many events in Jesus' life. I devoted a whole chapter to this mystery, and I am still investigating these occurrences of three throughout the Bible. Is this a peek into the divine consciousness? I believe, like a lot of people, that life is a journey. Some believe the end of the journey is death or final peace from the chaos and messes of life no consciousness. For them, there is no God. Others believe the end of the journey is the transition into our final form as spiritual beings when the soul goes over to the afterlife. I believe we all have a purpose and our personal relationship with God throughout our lives reveals it.
