What is reality? Was it founded in science or experimentation? How does religion figure into our findings? The author writes... "I have more faith in science than religion, but I am not prepared to accept much of what science teaches, either; and the next part of this treatise explains why." How can we come to an understanding of our surroundings without accepting a premise of science, religion or experimentation. This writing is the authors look into how we observe and describe our surroundings. A single dimension, two or three. Time and temperature. The space of emptiness or the space filled with waves and particles. There are many considerations which we have accepted through teachings. Then there are those of us that must first do it wrong a few times before we accept the teachings or maybe find a new path and discover the teachings may vary. Which is the reality? Is it science, religion or experimentation? Read on and discover what this author believes. It may change your outlook on reality."Because of knowledge. Because of a new intellectual awakening of the human species. Because of our determination to know reality. The result of knowing reality is worth the effort that it takes to know it."

"The traditional model of how the universe and life came about has some very serious gaps in it which many scientists of all persuasions tend to ignore. In my view, the idea of a physical reality being created out of nothing is a bizarre notion. Instead, I suggest that in contrast to an understanding of the world in which the evolution of Homo sapiens is almost incidental to 'the way things really are', knowledge is always the product of a living entity and its perceived environment. This means that awareness, thinking and knowing things are not just the prerogative of human beings, but of all beings, whether they are micro-organisms or plants, trees, insects, fish or mammals. My conclusion is that all living beings have the ability not only to grow, metabolise nutrients and reproduce, but also to know the appropriate responses to problematic situations. We are all 'knowing beings' within our own reality"--Back cover.

Objectivity written by Tibor R. Machan and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-28 with Philosophy categories.

The question of objectivity is whether human beings are capable of knowing reality just as it is, or whether there is some necessary distortion in our grasp of the nature of things imposed either by the very nature of our cognitive mechanism, or by such factors as language, culture, personal ambitions, psychological disorders, and class interests. Could it be that we do not see the world at all, since we see it from a particular point of view? Can we ever satisfactorily establish that our understanding of reality is accurate, or must that always remain in doubt? In this book Professor Machan defends objectivity in philosophy, science, and everyday life from its many critics. Objectivity stands in need of a defence because it is a difficult ideal to serve, especially in an era of multiculturalism, deconstructionism, feminism, and diversity. People from different cultures report having radically different experiences, indeed radically different worlds. They usually claim that their experiences are as true as anyone else‘s. Deconstructionists tell us that we know nothing determinate beyond language, i.e., that we don‘t know what we are talking about. Feminists often maintain that women and men see the world in significantly different ways. The idea of diversity gains much of its plausibility from the idea that people from diverse backgrounds all have their own valid ways of seeing the world. The most prominent movements in Anglo-American and continental philosophy are against objectivity. Such figures as Richard Rorty and Jacques Derrida unambiguously deny that human beings are capable of knowing the world as it is. This book considers and responds to these and similar challenges to objectivity.

To be one, whole in the face of life, is all that matters. So long as I remain conscious of this, I feel a life within me and a peace that nothing else can give. The words are Madame de Salzmanns, from the final page of her book The Reality of Being. I read them and feel good. For a moment I experience the peace that passeth understanding. At that same moment I realize my incapacity and my non-comprehension and I feel bad. Stabbed in the heart by the sword of gnosis I want to run away, fall back into complacency. I see how I am, divided. Do I care? So long as I remain trapped in passivity, nothing new can appear: no Newness, no New Man, no New World. Do I really wish to explore the Unknown? Or am I only an armchair adventurer, a dreamer vicariously gaining the experience from anothers travels? How can I know myself? My journey to inaccessible places begins with seeing that I am two: I wish, I do not wish. The act of seeing itself is the appearance of I. Not the ordinary I that is deeply afraid and wishes only for security, but the real I, pure, uncontaminated by fear, grounded in love. Without it I will never know what is true, never enter a world entirely new. Her words convey deep meaning, far deeper than we ordinarily realize. To discover the New World requires knowing how to measure. Without the science of measures I cannot go far. It is my measure, the measure both of my capacity and of the quality of my moment of work. Knowing the code of measures, I can decipher the reality of who I am. This book provides the keys to the code.
