Many people get turned off in any discussion about religion or spirituality. These topics are difficult to discuss because the subjects are polarizing. They are difficult to talk about in groups of people with different views. I spent 40 years of my life in organized religion while also searching for what I felt was the true meaning and purpose for us being here on earth. I believe there are lot of other people doing the same thing, but don't want to let anyone else know they are on this same journey, out of fear or embarrassment. I want to openly share the struggling questions I wrestle with even today as I transition from organized religion to a path that encourages love of all mankind. I want everyone to see the topics I researched and the conclusions I developed from the subjects I studied. I discuss a concept that was so life-changing for me, I earnestly want everyone to consider how it may help them as well My hope is that by reading through my journey, others will learn to look at life with an open mind and an a new set of understandings on why we are here on this earth and what the ultimate purpose of being human is all about.

One Man And His God written by Richard Kayes and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

'One Man and His God' describes the activities of a Liverpool Pastor who, in addition to running a church, reached out to violent Teddy Boys, delinquent girls and faced atheists and agnostics at Liverpool's Speakers Corner at the Pier Head. Exposing his faith to the questions and ridicule of unbelievers not only won converts, but caused him to re-examine his own beliefs and discard some of them. His own pilgrimage of faith continued as he helped to lead a joint Christian Aid/Army mercy dash across the Sahara where thousands were dying through drought and disease. I found it impossible, Richard writes, to tell a starving mother holding a dying baby that God loved her. Visiting India he witnessed remarkable development projects run by evangelicals, Hindus and Muslims. In the West Bank and Gaza he sympathised with the Israelis and agonised with the Palestinians. These visits helped to prune and re-shape his faith. The total inspiration of the Bible, the exclusiveness of the Evangelical Gospel and the Doctrine of everlasting punishment were all examined and laid aside as he moved forward in his quest to follow Christ. Illustrations and anecdotes abound in this book which is written to make you think and perhaps raise a smile. The authors sense of humour is evident as he describes his preachments and magic shows that served to spread the Gospel. Richard believes in the dynamic power of the 'whole Gospel' and feels he has found a no-nonsense faith that equips one for life today.

This work is a summary and analysis of Abraham Lincoln's religion. This study begins with a description of the earliest relations Mr. Lincoln had with religion, his parents' dedication to a sect known as the "Separate Baptists." By late adolescence, Lincoln began to reject his parents' faith, and he appears to have been a religious skeptic until his marriage to Mary Todd. After his marriage, he attended Protestant services with his wife and family, but there was little evidence that he was deeply religious in that time. Lincoln knew the Scriptures quite well, but it was not until the death of his two sons, Eddie in 1850 and Willie in 1862, that as the sixteenth president put it, "He became more intensely concerned with God's Plan for human kind."

By One Man is a response to the challenge of Evolutionary Creation, or any view, which proposes that God evolved humans from primeval life forms as His method of creation.By One Man reviews the evidence from both Scripture and Christadelphian writers and concludes that Evolutionary Creation is incompatible with Bible teaching and the Christadelphian Statement of Faith (BASF). Evolutionary Creation conflicts with core Christadelphian teaching on creation, the first man and woman of the human race, the mortal and sin-biased condition of human nature that came in consequence of Adam and Eve's sin, the meaning and origin of the devil, the atoning work of Christ and God's purpose with mankind. By One Man furnishes easy access to the long-standing teaching of Christadelphians on these important subjects, and provides assurance to readers that our community's beliefs are based on sound Scriptural evidence.

Jesus written by Ron Messier and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-10-01 with Religion categories.

In his search for channels of dialogue between Christians and Muslims as we move further into the 21st century, the author finds that Jesus can be such a channel. Jesus, One Man Two Faiths explores a wide range of views within each faith that can be supported by what each faith considers to be its revealed scriptures and traditions. It explores Jesus' birth, his life and perfect servant and as suffering servant, his miracles, the events of Good Friday and Easter, the Ascension to heaven, and Jesus coming again at the end of time. One discovers not only similarities, some of which are quite surprising, but also differences that are more often complementary than contradictory, inviting believers in each faith to reflect on their own images of Jesus and, perhaps, expand those images in light of what the other has to offer.
