The TikTok sensation, now with new exclusive content! Meet the Bergmans in this enemies-to-lovers new adult romance that tackles the vulnerability of love with humor and heart. From the moment Willa sat next to Ryder in class, she’s made it clear she hates his guts. Her reason is a mystery, but its outcome suits him fine. Willa Sutter is the feisty, tempting chaos he doesn’t need in his quiet, tidy life. She’s the next generation of women’s soccer. Wild hair. Bee-stung lips. And a temper that makes the devil seem friendly. He’ll leverage her hate as long as possible to keep his distance. When Willa asked Ryder to borrow his lecture notes, the silent, surly, mountain man ignored her. Ryder Bergman is an arrogant, infuriating flannel-wearing enigma. Mangy beard. Frayed ball cap that hides his eyes. And a stubborn refusal to acknowledge her existence. But Willa’s never backed down from a challenge. Forced to work together on their final project, Willa and Ryder begin a game of pranks and practical jokes, each determined to come out the champion. But once they catch unexpected feelings, victory begins to mean something else—winning each other’s hearts.

'A stunning mix of hilarious tropes, swoony romance and lovable, relatable characters. A must read for every romance lover!' Ali Hazelwood, author of The Love Hypothesis Gavin We've been teammates for two years, but it feels like Oliver Bergman's been on my last nerve for a lifetime. To make matters worse, he's obscenely attractive. Avoiding Oliver has been my survival tactic on and off the field. But when Coach drops the bomb that we're now co-captains, avoiding him becomes impossible, and keeping the truth from him is harder than ever. Oliver Life was great until soccer legend Gavin Hayes joined the team. He's a giant - albeit gorgeous - grump who lives to rain on my parade. I've sworn off pranks so, rather than settle our differences the Bergman way, I've been killing Gavin with kindness... Just one problem: it's killing me as well. Coach has given us an ultimatum: put an end to our enmity or say goodbye to being captains. I'm prepared to make nice, but the last thing I expect is to discover an explosive attraction we can't ignore... An enemies-to-lovers, age gap sports romance about an upbeat rising soccer star with anxiety and his curmudgeonly veteran teammate who lives with chronic pain. Praise for Chloe Liese: 'I could curl up in Liese's writing for days, I love it so' Helen Hoang, author of The Kiss Quotient 'Absolute romantic perfection' Christina Lauren, author of The Unhoneymooners

Ali Hazelwood, author of The Love Hypothesis Axel Rooney Sullivan is sunshine incarnate. Warm, bright, always smiling, she's the last person I have any business desiring. I've done everything possible to keep my distance... until a charades game gone wrong brought that to a grinding halt. Since then, steering clear of Rooney has been impossible, and the woman who was once avoidable has become the last thing I needed: temptingly within reach. Rooney Axel Bergman is a gorgeous grump who doesn't have the time of day for me. Somehow, I've kept my crush hidden ... well, until I kissed him. My life is a mess, and the last thing I need is to embarrass myself further with the man who avoids me like it's his job rather than painting modern masterpieces . But it seems the universe has a different plan as we unexpectedly find our paths - and problems - converging. And we've come up with one very unexpected solution... A sunshine and grump, marriage of convenience romance about a shy artist on the autism spectrum, and a smiley smartypants who has a chronic IBD. Why Only Us written by Robert C. Berwick and has been published by MIT Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

Berwick and Chomsky draw on recent developments in linguistic theory to offer an evolutionary account of language and humans' remarkable, species-specific ability to acquire it. “A loosely connected collection of four essays that will fascinate anyone interested in the extraordinary phenomenon of language.” —New York Review of Books We are born crying, but those cries signal the first stirring of language. Within a year or so, infants master the sound system of their language; a few years after that, they are engaging in conversations. This remarkable, species-specific ability to acquire any human language—“the language faculty”—raises important biological questions about language, including how it has evolved. This book by two distinguished scholars—a computer scientist and a linguist—addresses the enduring question of the evolution of language. Robert Berwick and Noam Chomsky explain that until recently the evolutionary question could not be properly posed, because we did not have a clear idea of how to define “language” and therefore what it was that had evolved. But since the Minimalist Program, developed by Chomsky and others, we know the key ingredients of language and can put together an account of the evolution of human language and what distinguishes us from all other animals. Berwick and Chomsky discuss the biolinguistic perspective on language, which views language as a particular object of the biological world; the computational efficiency of language as a system of thought and understanding; the tension between Darwin's idea of gradual change and our contemporary understanding about evolutionary change and language; and evidence from nonhuman animals, in particular vocal learning in songbirds.

Above Us Only Sky written by Don Cupitt and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with Philosophy categories.

Don Cupitt believes that a new and truly global religious consciousness has been quietly easing itself in around the world. It does not need any visible organization and does not make any non-rational doctrinal claims. It is the religion of life a secular, purely this-worldly, and radically-democratic affirmation of ordinary life. Where prescientific ages saw Heaven, he says, we see only sky. We have given up belief in a supernatural world, and we have felt compelled to break with the received ecclesiastical form of Christianity. But the Christian spirit of critical thinking, of systematic self-criticism and perpetual reform, has spread around the whole world in modern science, technology, critical history, and liberal democracy. In Above Us Only Sky, in 27 brief slogans, he presents a systematic theology of this religion of ordinary life, setting it against its philosophical background, its spirituality and its relation to other faiths. It is, he says, the legacy and the long-awaited fulfillment of Christianity.

The eight stories of speculative fiction in There Is Only Us explore themes of loneliness, connectedness, and selfhood. Each one is an act of intimacy—an altered world shown through the lens of a close relationship. Brothers, sisters, lovers, mothers, and daughters come together in myriad constellations, often so that one character can make a body-altering choice of extreme proportions. In a variety of forms—from a satirical retelling of Noah’s Ark to a sister drama revolving around naked mole rats—There Is Only Us presents a series of escalating scenarios, intimate and yet absurd, that ask, how much can you change and still be you? Ballering’s stories bring to speculative fiction a new lightness and absurdity and a commitment to contemporary experiences of loneliness, especially among Millennials: loneliness during the COVID-19 pandemic, ecological loneliness (the sense that, by the end of our lives, the earth will be barren), and the unsolvable loneliness that so many experience despite carrying around a tiny device that claims it can connect them to any human anywhere on earth.
