ÔThis exciting second volume of cutting-edge research on venture capital takes up where volume one leaves off, bringing greater depth to topics covered in the first volume (such as angel investing) and adding new topics and insights. It poses interesting questions such as Ð Is venture capital in crisis? Are new models of early investing needed? Ð and offers carefully researched answers. Landstršm and Mason provide insightful commentary and skillfully pinpoint the contributions of a talented set of researchers. Both scholars and practitioners of venture capital will want to read this book.Õ Ð Harry J. Sapienza, University of Minnesota, US ÔThe second edition of the Handbook of Research on Venture Capital provides an important guidepost for venture capital researchers. As Landstršm and Mason point out, the nature of venture capital has changed dramatically over the last ten years. The asset class as a whole has failed to return principal and the old model is under tremendous strain. The contributors nicely highlight many of these changes, especially how venture capital has scaled beyond the US. For those of us active in venture capital research, the chapters raise many interesting research questions that deserve further attention.Õ Ð Andrew Zacharakis, Babson College, US This Handbook charts the development of venture capital research in light of the global financial crisis, starting with an analysis of the current venture capital market and the changing nature of the business angel market. Looking at governance structures, the performance of venture capitalists in terms of investments, economic impact and human capital, and the geographical organization of business angels and venture capital global ÔhotspotsÕ, this book also analyses the current state of venture capital research and offers a roadmap for the future.

Customization 4 0 written by Stephan Hankammer and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-06-20 with Business & Economics categories.

This proceedings volume presents the latest research from the worldwide mass customization & personalization (MCP) community bringing together new thoughts and results from various disciplines within the field. The chapters are based on papers from the MCPC 2017. The book showcases research and practice from authors that see MCP as an opportunity to extend or even revolutionize current business models. The current trends of Industrie 4.0, digital manufacturing, and the rise of smart products allow for a fresh perspective on MCP: Customization 4.0. The book places a new set of values in the centre of the debate: a world with finite resources, global population growth, and exacerbating climate change needs smart thinking to engage the most effective capabilities and resources. It discusses how Customization 4.0 fosters sustainable development and creates shared value for companies, customers, consumers, and the society as a whole. The chapters of this book are contributed by a wide range of specialists, offering cutting-edge research, as well as insightful advances in industrial practice in key areas. The MCPC 2017 has a strong focus on real life MCP applications, and this proceedings volume reflects this. MCP strategies aim to profit from the fact that people are different. Their objective is to turn customer heterogeneities into opportunities, hence addressing “long tail” business models. The objective of MCP is to provide goods and services that best serve individual customers’ needs with near mass production efficiency. This proceedings volume highlights the interdisciplinary work of thought leaders, technology developers, and researchers with corporate entrepreneurs putting these strategies into practice. Chapter 24 is open access under a CC BY 4.0 license via link.springer.com.

Does Asean Matter Reconciling Realist And Constructivist Approaches To Regional Security In Southeast Asia written by Peter Goldschagg and has been published by GRIN Verlag this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with Political Science categories.

Essay from the year 2007 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Region: South Asia, grade: A (sehr gut/excellent), Victoria University of Wellington, course: Regional integration in Southeast Asia, 51 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: Focusing on ASEAN's relevance as a regional security organisation, this study aims to expound the prevailing driving forces, interests and obstacles to an effective crisis management. Drawing on the theoretical background of neo-realist and constructivist approaches, the paper argues that neither the neo-realist nor the constructivist approach is able to fully conceptualise ASEAN's role in regional security. While only an eclectic, multi-dimensional approach grasps the variety of its multiple facets, the latter seems to be highly contingent on the interplay of external structural and internal sociological dynamics. While the organisation appears in this out sketched context as a relatively important player in times of political and economic stability, having its merits in conflict-preventive measures through the building of trust and the construction of a common identity, the regime shows strong enervations in times of crisis.

Comparative Area Studies written by Ariel Ira Ahram and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018 with History categories.

In Comparative Area Studies, the editors and contributors are motivated by two basic convictions: first, that intensive regional research remains indispensable to the social sciences; and second, that this research risks becoming marginalized in the absence of concerted efforts to link it to disciplinary concepts and theories that have relevance beyond a single region.
