This book, made up of letters from each author to World Leaders, has reached the point of being real. We, WWPO and ICP, and our members are saying something here. Now, approaching the flight of this book, we are ready to get our message effectively read by the world's top leaders... We hope that you, the reader, will help us get this book into the hands of our world leaders, as Pope Fran-cis, and other religious leaders in each country and in each cul-tural group, such as the President of the United States of America or at least the congressmen of that country: also the Kings of the different countries where there is a monarchy, prime ministers, etc. We could add legislators, ambassadors from each country and each person of power in communes, cities, provinces, states and countries. The list is endless. We are now determined to get the book into your hands and will get to work as soon as it is pub-lished. At this moment I imagine many people with more or less authority or level of leadership, at an international level, reading this book and perhaps changing their opinion regarding violence. I dream of making the book stop a missile, stopping the hand that was supposed to press the red button that controls it. I dream that this book will become an anti-missile shield that, even if it does not stop a bombing of a building somewhere on the globe, will serve to raise awareness about peace. Now it's your turn: Please, reader: Join me in this dream. and help me stop the war by spreading this message all over the world. Reader: If every inhabitant of the Global Village does the same and em-braces us. Time flies and the world needs us united, but also ac-tive and coordinated. Sowing peace simply consists of focusing on the roundness of the world and its breadth, and thus embrace it in a huge hug without limiting ourselves to our reference group. María Cristina Azcona

Letters From Leaders written by Henry Dormann and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-05-21 with Business & Economics categories.

Possibly no one on Earth personally knows as many people at the helms of nations, businesses, religions, charitable organizations, and institutes of learning as Henry O. Dormann—founder, chairman, and editor-in-chief of LEADERS magazine, whose circulation is limited to such leading figures. Here, he brings together the first-ever exclusive collection of wisdom and inspiration addressed to young people from the world’s most influential people—advice on leadership, goal achievement, public service, and life journeys. Letters from Leaders is a beautifully designed book comprising nearly eighty letters from those who have done so much to shape our world today—from Muhammad Ali to four U.S. Presidents, Mikhail Gorbachev, King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and King Abdullah II of Jordan, and the Dalai Lama; from Cathie Black to T. Boone Pickens, Muriel Siebert, and Donald Trump. The letters, some as facsimile reproductions of handwritten originals, are each introduced with a biographical note by Dormann. As put so aptly by Dormann in his introduction, “All kings and queens, presidents, Nobel Laureates, chairmen and chairwomen, CEOs, and world leaders have one thing in common: They want what they have achieved to be useful and to be handed over to a younger generation. . . . The leaders in these pages have ‘lived’ and now offer their experiences as a treasure to ambitious and open minds—those who want to be something in life.”

Redefine the expectations for women in leadership roles with this #1 New York Times bestselling volume of inspiring advice by the former communications director for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Framed as an empowering letter from former Hillary Clinton Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri to the first woman president, and by extension, to all women working to succeed in any field, Dear Madam President is filled with forward-thinking, practical advice for all women who are determined to seize control of their lives-from boardroom to living room. As a country, we haven't wrapped our heads around what it should look like for a woman to be in the job of President. Our only models are men. While wildly disappointed by the outcome of the 2016 election, Palmieri argues that our feelings-confusion, love, hate, acceptance-can now open the country up to reimagining women in leadership roles. And that is what Palmieri takes on in this book-redefining expectations for women looking to lead and creating a blueprint for women candidates and leaders to follow. Dear Madam President will turn the results of the 2016 election into something incredibly empowering for graduates, future female leaders, and independent thinkers everywhere.

"Islamikaze: Manifestations of Islamic Martyrology explains the historical background to the events of 11 September 2001, the Western countermeasures and the reactions to both in the Muslim world. The attacks generated much debate over the role of religion, and Israeli makes a very important contribution to the understanding of the concept of the Martyr in Islam and the doctrine of Martyrdom, as well as those who champion it (ideologically and theologically), and the identified enemies of the Muslim fundamentalists. He illustrates his thesis with a selection of texts extolling the Martyrs (erroneously called 'suicide bombers')."--BOOK JACKET. Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. The Routledge Handbook Of Applied Climate Change Ethics written by Donald A. Brown and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-27 with Philosophy categories.

The Routledge Handbook of Applied Climate Change Ethics is a powerful reference source for the identification and exploration of the underlying ethical issues in climate change law and policy. Bridging theory with practice, it takes ethical engagement out of the classroom and into the halls of governance. The Handbook‘s 39 chapters--written by a diverse and inter-disciplinary team of experts from around the world--are case studies divided into five parts. Parts I-IV highlight the ethical issues that arise in climate change policy formation, from duties not to harm to duties to consider the views and voices of those who will be, or are being, harmed; from the role of human rights, justice, and democracy to how to identify and respond to disinformation and denialism. It also raises the ethics of various policy responses, such as cap-and-trade, carbon taxing, and geo-engineering. Part V offers a way forward, with strategies on how to expressly consider ethics in climate change policy formation, from negotiations to education, media, communication, and the power and potential of shaming. The volume is essential reading for students, professors, and practitioners who wish to better engage with government and non-government organizations on climate policy, to better understand the practical application of the theory and philosophy of ethics, and how to more strongly draft and defend ethical action in negotiating, drafting, and defending climate change law and policy.
