Human Nature And Eudaimonia In Aristotle written by Don Asselin and has been published by Peter Lang Incorporated, International Academic Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1989 with Foreign Language Study categories.

In his «Nicomachean Ethics», Aristotle says that eudaimonia («happiness») is the end of human nature. In the Greek thinker's moral theory and theory of human nature, that good has a definite content, and is a universal and even obligatory moral good -- the «true good» of man. Dr. Asselin argues that the connection that Aristotle sees between human nature and eudaimonia illuminates both human nature and the supreme moral good. To the same extent, Aristotle is a perennial source for theorizing about human nature, human moral qualities, and the best life for man.

Substance In Aristotle S Metaphysics Zeta written by Norman O. Dahl and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-28 with Philosophy categories.

This book argues that according to Metaphysics Zeta, substantial forms constitute substantial being in the sensible world, and individual composites make up the basic constituents that possess this kind of being. The study explains why Aristotle provides a reexamination of substance after the Categories, Physics, and De Anima, and highlights the contribution Z is meant to make to the science of being. Norman O. Dahl argues that Z.1-11 leaves both substantial forms and individual composites as candidates for basic constituents, with Z.12 being something that can be set aside. He explains that although the main focus of Z.13-16 is to argue against a Platonic view that takes universals to be basic constituents, some of its arguments commit Aristotle to individual composites as basic constituents, with Z.17’s taking substantial form to constitute substantial being is compatible with that commitment. .

Uncanny Rest written by Alberto Moreiras and has been published by Duke University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-10-28 with Literary Criticism categories.

In Uncanny Rest Alberto Moreiras offers a meditation on intellectual life under the suspension of time and conditions of isolation. Focusing on his personal day-to-day experiences of the “shelter-in-place” period during the first months of the coronavirus pandemic, Moreiras engages with the limits and possibilities of critical thought in the realm of the infrapolitical—the conditions of existence that exceed average understandings of politics and philosophy. In each dated entry he works through the process of formulating a life’s worth of thought and writing while attempting to locate the nature of thought once the coordinates of everyday life have changed. Offering nothing less than a phenomenology of thinking, Moreiras shows how thought happens in and out of a life, at a certain crossroads where memories collide, where conversations with interlocutors both living and dead evolve and thinking during a suspended state becomes provisional and uncertain.

Staat Und Religion written by Oliver Hidalgo and has been published by Springer-Verlag this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-05-20 with Political Science categories.
