Outline Studies in Christian Doctrine has been a primer for many thousands of Bible school students who, as missionaries, ministers and lay Christians, have carried its teaching to every part of our world. George P. Pardington, son of a Methodist minister, had the advantage of a classical education (Drew University), earning his doctorate in 1898 from New York University. Early drawn to A.B. Simpson and his "Friday meetings" in New York City, Pardington devoted most of his professional life to teaching at Simpson's Missionary Training Institue—now Nyack (New York) College. Severely handicapped as the result of a merciless beating at age 10 by his schoolteacher, Pardington did not let physical suffering suppress his victorious spirit or his keen sense of humor. He regaled his students with his wit and motivated them by the warmth of his unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ and the Scriptures. Published posthumously following the author's untimely death in 1915 at age 49, has been in continuous print for nearly three-quarters of a century. The chapters of this book, prepared personally by the author just prior to his death, distill the essense of his classroom teaching.

A Fresh Theological Account of the Person and Work of Christ The literature on Christology is large and ever-expanding. The same is true for work on the atonement, which has blossomed in the last decade. Few studies attempt to connect the dots between these two theological topics, however. In this volume, respected theologian Oliver Crisp offers a fresh analytic-theological account of the person and work of Christ, focusing on the theme of union with God Incarnate. Along the way, he engages a range of contemporary and historic Christian thinkers and tackles a number of key issues in contemporary discussions. Wide-ranging and carefully argued, this unified account of the person and work of Christ will be of interest to scholars and students of Christian theology.

GREAT FOR TEACHERS, PASTORS, MINISTERS, SUPERINTENDANTS, STUDENTS, AND CHRISTIANS DESCRIPTION: Dr. Christopher Toote has produced a compilation of Bible study lessons that is a resource of accurate, clear, contextual, practical, and applicable outlines. There is fluidity, flow, and coherence from the introduction to the conclusion. Transitional ideas and thoughts move seamlessly. The topics are thought-provoking, thematic and contemporary without losing the Biblical originality and intent. It is evident that Dr. Toote methodically and meticulously studies the context from the historical, geographical, socio-cultural, political, and theocratic perspectives. He approaches each topic by exploring the original language, identifying and studying key words carefully, understanding and referring to surrounding passages and chapters to get a good, comprehensive, accurate grip of context and meaning. Dr. Toote strongly supports a genuine, unbiased, exegetical approach to Bible study. This approach encourages hard work, diligence, scholasticism, exegesis, and understanding. It gives the diligent student the ability to detect erroneous teachings and materials, even in commentaries, publications, and reputable theological literature. "50 Powerful Bible Study Outlines", Vol. 1 is primarily expositional and exegetical in form. However, several lessons are more thematic and systematic in structure and composition. The topics cover a wide spectrum: Evangelism, Faith, Family, Followship, Ministry, Pentecost, Power, Prayer, Relationship, Reformation, Salvation, Success, Warfare, Word, and Worship. As you study these Bible lessons, you will not only learn about God and the things of God - you will encounter God. You will experience God. There will be a transformational process that will happen in the life of the Bible student. Digging into the well of God's Word, you will draw bucket loads of precious treasures that have eternal value. The investment in these treasures will yield priceless dividends. Rev. Dr. Elliott H. Clues To The Nicene Creed written by David E. Willis and has been published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Religion categories.

The Nicene Creed's powerful summary of Christian faith has stood the test of time, embodying core truths and distinguishing essential Christian teachings from those of lesser importance. As respected thinker and educator David Willis explores the Nicene Creed in this new book, he provides clues for meaningfully interpreting this most ecumenical of church creeds in the twenty-first century. Writing especially for educated laypeople, advanced students, and theological educators, Willis eloquently links the ancient creed to life today. As he points out, faith is constantly taking different shapes within broad boundaries like the creed's perennial truths, and even these truths need to be reinterpreted in each age to keep them intelligible and compelling. Willis admirably achieves this task for our day by elucidating the creed's statement of faith with analogies drawn from such diverse areas as architecture, graphic art, poetry, sculpture, and psychological theory. Those seeking to delve into the creed or to deepen a lifelong encounter with it will be enriched by Willis's reflections.
