Based on ongoing research conducted by investigative teams at the University of Iowa, NOC and NIC Linkages to NANDA-I and Clinical Conditions: Supporting Critical Thinking and Quality Care, 3rd Edition is the only book on the market that provides linkages between the three standardized languages recognized by the American Nurses Organization (NOC, NIC, and all of the 2009-2010 NANDA-I approved nursing diagnoses). Its user-friendly, tabular format and real-world case studies make it the perfect tool to help you develop effective care plans for your patients. This edition features a new chapter on clinical decision making, a new chapter on the use of NNN in information systems, more concise intervention listings that identify major and suggested interventions, and approximately 20 new linkages to common, high-cost medical diagnoses. Linkages between the three standardized languages recognized by the American Nurses Organization: NANDA-I, Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) help you select the most effective care plans for patients and allow institutions to track and quantify nursing care. Tabular format allows you to quickly retrieve information. Case studies with nursing care plans demonstrate the practical, real-life application of linkages. Definitions of all NANDA-I, NOC, and NIC labels provide comprehensive coverage of the standardized languages. Serves as an excellent companion to Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC), 4th Edition and Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), 5th Edition. NEW! Added linkages to common medical diagnoses help support clinical reasoning, improve quality, and build the evidence needed to enhance nursing care. - Includes 15-20 high-frequency, high-cost medical diagnoses that are commonly experienced by patients across the life span. - Examples include Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Total Joint Replacement, and Asthma. NEW! Treatment of Intervention content makes information easier to locate by listing interventions as Major Interventions and Suggested Interventions. Two NEW chapters discuss the use of linkages for clinical reasoning and quality improvement and the use of NNN in computerized information systems. NEW! Information associated with the risk for nursing diagnosis is contained on a single page for quick and easy reference.

The Structure Of The Ordinary written by N. J. Habraken and has been published by MIT Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-08-25 with Architecture categories.

The influential Dutch architect's long-awaited manifesto on the everyday environment as the first and best ground for establishing the significance and coherence of architecture. According to N. J. Habraken, intimate and unceasing interaction between people and the forms they inhabit uniquely defines built environment. The Structure of the Ordinary, the culmination of decades of environmental observation and design research, is a recognition and analysis of everyday environment as the wellspring of urban design and formal architecture. The author's central argument is that built environment is universally organized by the Orders of Form, Place, and Understanding. These three fundamental, interwoven principles correspond roughly to physical, biological, and social domains. Historically, "ordinary" environment was the background against which architects built the "extraordinary." Drawing upon extensive examples from archaeological and contemporary sites worldwide, the author illustrates profound recent shifts in the structure of everyday environment. One effect of these transformations, Habraken argues, has been the loss of implicit common understanding that previously enabled architects to formally enhance and innovate while still maintaining environmental coherence. Consequently, architects must now undertake a study of the ordinary as the fertile common ground in which form- and place-making are rooted. In focusing on built environment as an autonomous entity distinct from the societies and natural environments that jointly create it, this book lays the foundation for a new dialogue on methodology and pedagogy, in support of a more informed approach to professional intervention.

The candid, revealing autobiography of soccer's greatest and most controversial star. “Sometimes I think that my whole life is on film, that my whole life is in print. But it’s not like that. There are things which are only in my heart—that no one knows. At last I have decided to tell everything.”—Diego Maradona A poor boy from a Buenos Aires shanty town, Diego Maradona became a genius with the soccer ball, kicking his way to the heights of South American, European, and world soccer, yet his struggles with the pressures of life inside and outside the game repeatedly threatened to tear him and his legend down. Hero or villain, one thing about Maradona is certain: He was the greatest soccer player of his generation—and perhaps of all-time. Never before has the legendary Maradona given us his extraordinary story in his own words—until now. From his poverty-stricken origins to his greatest glories on the field, Maradona recounts, with astonishing frankness and brilliant insight, the pivotal moments of his life—the pressures of being a child prodigy, the infamous semi-final game against England in the 1986 World Cup, an incredible turn-around and the dream-turned-sour at Napoli, and the shame and disgrace of his positive drug test at USA 1994. In this amazingly honest autobiography, we see inside the mind of one of the most talented, controversial, and complex sportsmen of our times—a man torn between the demands of corporate club bosses, the fans, the media, and his own tempestuous personal life. With a new epilogue exclusive to this paperback edition that brings Maradona’s remarkable story up-to-date and more than eighty wonderful photographs, Maradona is a confessional, a revelation, an apology, and a celebration. 20 color and 63 black-and-white photographs

Opening Mexico written by Julia Preston and has been published by Macmillan + ORM this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-03-15 with Political Science categories.

The Story of Mexico's political rebirth, by two pulitzer prize-winning reporters Opening Mexico is a narrative history of the citizens' movement which dismantled the kleptocratic one-party state that dominated Mexico in the twentieth century, and replaced it with a lively democracy. Told through the stories of Mexicans who helped make the transformation, the book gives new and gripping behind-the-scenes accounts of major episodes in Mexico's recent politics. Mexico's Institutional Revolutionary Party, led by presidents who ruled like Mesoamerican monarchs, came to be called "the perfect dictatorship." But a 1968 massacre of student protesters by government snipers ignited the desire for democratic change in a generation of Mexicans. Opening Mexico recounts the democratic revolution that unfolded over the following three decades. It portrays clean-vote crusaders, labor organizers, human rights monitors, investigative journalists, Indian guerrillas, and dissident political leaders, such as President Ernesto Zedillo-Mexico's Gorbachev. It traces the rise of Vicente Fox, who toppled the authoritarian system in a peaceful election in July 2000. Opening Mexico dramatizes how Mexican politics works in smoke-filled rooms, and profiles many leaders of the country's elite. It is the best book to date about the modern history of the United States' southern neighbor-and is a tale rich in implications for the spread of democracy worldwide.
