She’s too old to play Grandma’s silly games! Everyone knows that tigers live in jungles, not gardens… So even when Nora sees dragonflies with wings as big as her arm, and plants that try and eat her toy giraffe, and a polar bear that likes fishing, she knows there’s absolutely, DEFINITELY no way there could be a tiger in the garden… Could there? Written and illustrated by Lizzy Stewart, Nora’s grandma’s garden becomes a paradise filled by fluttering wings, a deep and dangerous jungle, and even a polar fishing pond. The wonderfully independent Nora, accompanied by her best friend Jeff the Giraffe, gradually discovers the fun of imagining in this instant classic. This magical picture book about imagination and play will spark the interest of every child.

Red Hearts And Roses written by Rhiannon Ifans and has been published by University of Wales Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-09 with Literary Criticism categories.

Who was Saint Valentine, the saint who gave his name to the festival of lovers in Wales? Where do red hearts and roses fit in? Or do they? This volume addresses these questions, but focuses more specifically on the previously unpublished Welsh poetry written over the centuries on the feast day of Saint Valentine in mid-February, the one saint’s day in the Christian calendar of saints that does not depend on the Church for a celebration of the feast day – far from resembling anything else on offer in any other part of Britain, these Welsh songs are lyrical, expressive, and often in cynghanedd (the concept of sound-arrangement within a line). This volume analyses the first extant Welsh Saint Valentine’s Day poems, and advances a new understanding of societal propriety in settings where citizens paid great attention to tradition. In so doing, it offers new insights into the tradition of observing Saint Valentine’s Day in Wales and, indeed, argues that although it is the fifth-century Dwynwen who is today considered to be the patron saint of Welsh lovers, Saint Valentine also handed out aid and sympathy to lovers in Wales over many centuries. The Occasional Vegan written by Sarah Philpott and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-03-15 with Cooking categories.

The Occasional Vegan contains 70 simple, affordable and delicious recipes, which will appeal whether you are a newcomer or a long-time vegan, keeping you well-fed and healthy. Sarah Philpott's recipes are accompanied by the story of her journey to becoming a vegan. In this book she explores the ethical and lifestyle arguments for a plant-based diet through her own experience of turning vegan at thirty. Growing numbers of people are making the same journey (the number of vegans is up 350% in the past decade), attracted by principles underlying it. Even if, like Venus Williams, you're not completely vegan, you'll find plenty of recipes here to encourage you over the finish line. And as food lover Philpott shows, embracing veganism certainly doesn't need to break the bank - her recipes are homely and easily cooked, suitable for old and young, gourmet cooks and kitchen novices, pensioners and students. The Occasional Vegan is divided into four sections: The Working Week: quick meals for busy peop≤ Something for the Weekend: lazy brunches and Sunday lunches; High Days and Holidays: special occasions like birthdays, Christmas and Easter; Comfort Food and Children's Favourites. Each section is packed with delicious dishes and illustrated with gorgeous photographs. Health, affordability, the environment, animal welfare: there are many reasons for becoming a vegan - or becoming more vegan - and in The Occasional Vegan Sarah Philpott shows how to do it, in the kitchen and in life.
