Entre los tres elementos que conforman el título de esta obra han prevalecido unas relaciones tirantes, incluso a veces cainitas. La tensión entre palabra, concepto e idea, y sus correlatos historia terminológica, historia conceptual e historia de las ideas, ha sido constante, y las luchas de poder no han cristalizado en un triunvirato, sino casi siempre en la hegemonía de uno de ellos, a pesar de que su etimología y su genealogía apuntaban en aquel sentido. Palabras, conceptos, ideas combina estudios sobre la metodología de la historia conceptual con escrutinios de conceptos clave de la historia del pensamiento, desde la Antigüedad hasta el presente, especialmente fecundos para la comprensión de la génesis y la crisis de la modernidad. Es, además, una aportación interdisciplinar que abarca cronológicamente casi todas las épocas y, a diferencia de la mayoría de los trabajos existentes, conecta las dimensiones teórica y práctica de la historia conceptual, sin decantarse en exclusiva por el giro lingüístico, sino que se abre tanto al giro temporal como al icónico de las ciencias del espíritu. La colección EidÉtica, ideada por Roberto R. Aramayo, quien la dirige junto a Concha Roldán y Faustino Oncina, recoge estudios monográficos, volúmenes colectivos y textos de referencia sobre la relación entre las ideas y los valores éticos. Sus tres ejes temáticos son la historia de las ideas morales y políticas, el prisma ético de una filosofía crítica de la historia y las aportaciones de la historia conceptual, ámbitos todos ellos estudiados por la línea de investigación «Conceptos y valores» del Instituto de Filosofía del CSIC.

The present volume collects seventeen case studies that characterize the various kinds of translationes within European culture over the last two millennia.
