Comics rücken in der deutschdidaktischen Diskussion zunehmend in den Fokus. Die Studie gibt am Beispiel des Comics Lehmriese lebt! unterrichtspraktische Einblicke in Probenprozesse zu Panellesungen. Ausgehend von den kindlichen Handlungspraktiken differenziert sie sprachliche, literarische und pädagogische Lernpotenziale der Panellesung aus. Caroline Wittig ist Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben an der Universität Wuppertal im Teilfach Didaktik der deutschen Sprache und Literatur. Ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind Theaterspiel und Theaterrezeption in der Grundschule sowie literarästhetisches Lernen mit Bilderbüchern und Comics.

Mündliches Erzählen spielt im Deutschunterricht der Grundschule eine bedeutende Rolle, um Schüler*innen Wege in die Schriftlichkeit zu eröffnen. In der erzähldidaktischen Forschung wird es daher vor allen Dingen in (schrift-)sprachlicher Perspektive untersucht. An diesem Desiderat setzt die qualitativ-rekonstruktive Studie an und untersucht mündliche Erzählprozesse von Grundschüler*innen in multimodaler Perspektive. Im Fokus stehen dabei Pretend-Reading-Prozesse, bei denen die Schüler*innen so tun, als ob sie den Schrifttext eines zuvor gehörten Bilderbuches vorlesen würden - der Schrifttext ist dann abgeklebt. Dazu verbindet die Studie kulturorientierte und linguistische Ansätze der Erzählforschung und schließt neben der para- und nonverbalen Erzählebene auch die bildliche in die Analyse ein. So kann die Studie auf sprachliche, literarische und mediale Lernpotenziale des mündlichen Erzählens beim Pretend Reading im Zusammenhang von Bilderbuchrezeption und -produktion hinweisen und den Blick auf das mündliche Erzählen als multimodale Performanz - und somit über eine (schrift-)sprachliche Perspektive hinaus - öffnen.
