"Choreographing Relations" undertakes the experiment of a conceptual site development of contemporary choreography by means of practical philosophy. Guided by the radically empiricist question "What Can Choreography Do?" the book investigates the performances of Antonia Baehr, Juan Dominguez, Xavier Le Roy, and Eszter Salamon, and the philosophical works of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. It establishes a relation between these practitioners as an encounter in method, and develops method as a singular, material and experimental practice. In view of these singular methods and the participatory relations to which they give rise, Choreographing Relations offers a prolific inventory of arepresentational procedures that qualitatively transformed choreography and philosophy at the turn of the twentieth century.

Kommentar, Disputation, Predigt, Meditationsliteratur, Schauspiel, Andachtsbild, Meditationslandschaft, Altarbild, geistliches Gedicht) in den Blick. Diese Bündelung vielfältiger Fachkompetenzen geht der Exegese von Gen 22 innerhalb der Theologie des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts in bisher nicht erreichter Dichte nach und zeigt, welchen Beitrag Bühne, Malerei, Bildhauerei und geistliche Musik zur Auslegung des Bibeltextes leisteten. Der Sammelband erprobt damit ein neues Paradigma auslegungsgeschichtlicher Forschung, das in innovativer Weise der frühneuzeitlichen Intermedialität Rechnung trägt.

Die imitatio Christi heroica ist fächer- und epochenübergreifend weder historisch noch systematisch zureichend erforscht. Die Studien in vorliegendem Band, konsequent aus den einschlägigen Quellen erarbeitet, zielen darauf, diese eklatante Forschungslücke für den Zeitraum der Frühen Neuzeit zumindest tentativ zu schließen. So werden die Ergebnisse eines interdisziplinären Kongresses dokumentiert, den der Sonderforschungsbereich 948 Helden – Heroisierungen – Heroismen (Freiburg) und das Graduiertenkolleg 2008 Interkonfessionalität in der Frühen Neuzeit (Hamburg) gemeinsam veranstalteten, um historisch-theologische, geschichtswissenschaftliche, kunsthistorische, musikwissenschaftliche und philologische Expertisen zu bündeln. Besonderes Augenmerk gilt dabei der Frage, welche geistlichen Heroisierungsstrategien in der Frühen Neuzeit zu beobachten sind und wie sie sich mit Blick auf die Heroisierung Christi und die imitatio Christi heroica in unterschiedlichen Medien bzw. intermedial ausprägten.
