FAMILY MATTERS PATCHWORK FAMILY In the blink of an eye, Tyler Corwin found himself father to the little girl he'd loved as a baby, then let go when his marriage fell apart. Back then, the decision—the right thing to do—had torn him apart, just as his daughter's rebelliousness did now. To reconnect with Lanie, he needed help. He needed Shaunna Lightfeather. The earthy beauty healed horses and, Tyler hoped, children, too. And as Shaunna worked her magic with Lanie and his daughter's wild Mustang, he realized she'd charmed this dad, as well. But would the woman who'd won his heart and restored his family consider a future by his side?

A passionate advocate of identity studies and a keen reader of U.S. institutional politics, Robyn Wiegman turns her attention in Object Lessons to the critical practices and political ambitions of identity-based fields. In a series of case studies drawn from womens studies, queer studies, ethnic studies, and American studies, she examines the unspoken belief that better theory will produce progressive social change in order to consider the political desire that fuels current scholarly debate. Her metacritical analysis is neither a defense nor a dismissal of such political commitment but a sustained inquiry into the hope it generates, the thinking it inspires, and the conformity it inadvertently demands.

Life Lessons For Little Ones is written in two parts: The first part of this book is written as an informative parental guide. It touches on the subjects that are associated with most aspects of caring for infants and teaching parents how to be in control while raising small children. The second part of this book is written for infants like a children's book. It is written so that the babies learn all about their new world. There are places to put photos and personalize this book especially for your new baby. There are always going to be a few strong willed children that will be a challenge, but if you would like to have children that you enjoy being around, this book will explain to you how to teach them the desired behavior that you want them to have. These are the guidelines that I went by when teaching our two tiny babies and the infants that I have cared for. This form of teaching has eliminated the terrible two's etc. in our children and the other children that I have kept, making for a peaceful home. When I cared for these little ones they hardly ever cried unless they were sick or hurt. The years that I cared for infants was the best time of my life. I loved my job!

The United States is at a crossroads in its policies towards the family and gender equality. Currently America provides basic support for children, fathers, and mothers in the form of unpaid parental leave, child-related tax breaks, and limited public childcare. Alternatively, the United States' OECD peers empower families through paid parental leave and comprehensive investments in infants and children. The potential gains from strengthening these policies are enormous. Paid parental leave and subsidised childcare help get and keep more women in the workforce, contribute to economic growth, offer cognitive and health benefits to children, and extend choice for parents in finding their preferred work-life strategy. Indeed, the United States has been falling behind the rest of the OECD in many social and economic indicators by not adequately investing in children, fathers and mothers.

Parental Life Courses After Separation And Divorce In Europe written by Michaela Kreyenfeld and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-02 with Social Science categories.

This open access book assembles landmark studies on divorce and separation in European countries, and how this affects the life of parents and children. It focuses on four major areas of post-separation lives, namely (1) economic conditions, (2) parent-child relationships, (3) parent and child well-being, and (4) health. Through studies from several European countries, the book showcases how legal regulations and social policies influence parental and child well-being after divorce and separation. It also illustrates how social policies are interwoven with the normative fabric of a country. For example, it is shown that father-child contact after separation is more intense in those countries which have adopted policies that encourage shared parenting. Correspondingly, countries that have adopted these regulations are at the forefront of more egalitarian gender role attitudes. Apart from a strong emphasis on the legal and social policy context, the studies in this volume adopt a longitudinal perspective and situate post-separation behaviour and well-being in the life course. The longitudinal perspective opens up new avenues for research to understand how behaviour and conditions prior or at divorce and separation affect later behaviour and well-being. As such this book is of special appeal to scholars of family research as well as to anyone interested in the role of divorce and separation in Europe in the 21st century.
