Le contenu de l’encyclique Ecclesiam suam concernant le dialogue l’incita à privilégier et à promouvoir de toutes les façons possibles ce dialogue que le Mouvement mettait en place petit à petit dans des cercles toujours plus vastes : non seulement à l’intérieur de l’Église catholique et entre les Églises, mais entre les religions, avec les personnes de convictions non religieuses et avec le monde contemporain. Les contacts établis pendant le Concile lui permirent de connaître différentes personnalités du monde orthodoxe, anglican, méthodiste et réformé et d’être invitée plus tard au Conseil œcuménique des Églises, en 1967.
