La literatura comparada té, a Catalunya, una tradició que pot considerar-se lògica i paradoxal alhora. La modernitat cultural que ha caracteritzat el país ha afavorit una crítica literària amb una dimensió internacional, cosmopolita, coherent amb les relacions entre la literatura catalana i les literatures europees. Aquest llibre reuneix una mostra d’aquests «comparatistes sense comparatisme»: crítics de talent, amb vocació i mirada europees, que exemplifiquen una història alternativa de la literatura comparada i revelen amb la seva manera de llegir que la nostra és, com deia Joan Fuster, una literatura entre literatures.

Graduate employability is a significant concern for most higher education institutions worldwide. During the last two decades, universities have attempted to implement their employability agendas to support their students to enhance employment outcomes. However, within today’s globalized labour markets, employability has gone far beyond the notion of obtaining stable and permanent employment. This book explores graduates’ experiences in developing and utilizing employability capitals for career development and success in different labour markets. In the chapters, the graduate contributors narrate and discuss how they negotiated their employability on the transitions across jobs, occupational sectors and labour markets. En este libro publicado en ocasión del décimo aniversario de su muerte, se presenta una aproximación al perfil personal, intelectual y académico del Dr. Alexandre Sanvisens Marfull (1918-1995) que durante toda su vida estuvo vinculado a la Universidad de Barcelona. Primero como alumno de Filosofía y Derecho, después como profesor de la Facultad de Filosofía desde el año 1942 y, finalmente, como catedrático (1971) de Pedagogía General de la misma Universidad. Formado al socaire del magisterio de los hermanos Tomás y Joaquín Carreras Artau, el profesor Sanvisens se vinculó a la tradición filosófica catalana (Martí de Eixalá, Llorens Barba) perfilando un pensamiento que se caracteriza -entre otros aspectos- por su dimensión relacional y la importancia que concede a la conciencia. Sobre estas bases elaboró una teoría sistemática sobre la educación a partir de la cibernética y de la teoría general de sistemas, planteamiento que durante años ha vivificado el panorama teorético de la Pedagogía española. En este libro se incluyen diversas aportaciones de diferentes profesores del estado Español, a la vez que se incorporan un par de escritos del propio Dr. Sanvisens. Finalmente, se añade un elenco bibliográfico que da cuenta y razón de su extensa y prolífica producción intelectual.

In all parts of Asia, households devote considerable expenditures to private supplementary tutoring. This tutoring may contribute to students' achievement, but it also maintains and exacerbates social inequalities, diverts resources from other uses, and can contribute to inefficiencies in education systems. Such tutoring is widely called shadow education, because it mimics school systems. As the curriculum in the school system changes, so does the shadow. This study documents the scale and nature of shadow education in different parts of the region. Shadow education has been a major phenomenon in East Asia and it has far-reaching economic and social implications.
