Il terzo millennio si è aperto all’insegna di una profonda crisi che colpisce globalmente il sistema sociale, economico e culturale dell’Occidente. Dentro questa crisi vanno moltiplicandosi le situazioni di disagio sociale e le condizioni di marginalizzazione a cui sono esposti i soggetti più fragili. Tutto questo contribuisce a incrementare le possibilità di nuove forme di devianza, soprattutto in ambito minorile. Le nuove sfide per la pedagogia della marginalità e della devianza, oggi, rinviano quindi alla necessità di dare legittimità teorica e professionale a una figura di consulente pedagogico che sappia interagire con le situazioni socialmente critiche e «abitare» pragmaticamente questo spazio. Questa nuova edizione del libro, nella prima parte, propone una riflessione critica sui modelli teorici delle scienze umane che hanno contribuito all’interpretazione dei fenomeni di devianza, includendo una lettura in chiave decostruttiva delle posizioni emergenti nell’ambito delle neuroscienze; nella seconda e nella terza parte, in rapporto alla questione minorile, si indicano i principali problemi pedagogici, i possibili criteri di intervento e le relative competenze implicate nella definizione di un profilo di consulente pedagogico nel campo della devianza.
