RESUMO: Não há dúvida de que as relações literárias entre Brasil e Portugal já foram mais profícuas. Camões, Eugênio de Castro, António Nobre, Fernando Pessoa... Toda a formação escolar de Manuel Bandeira passa pelo mundo literário lusitano, conforme ele mesmo afirma em Itinerário de Pasárgada, seu percurso de memórias. Este trabalho, portanto, pretende destacar a presença de Portugal na obra de Manuel Bandeira. Do simbolista António Nobre, Bandeira assume uma força inspiradora, especialmente verificável na obra A cinza das horas, na qual é possível encontrar um diálogo intertextual muito rico entre o poeta brasileiro e o português. Além disso, há ainda uma série de outros poemas dedicados a vates portugueses, e também mergulhos consistentes na simbologia lusitana; o poeta brasileiro dedica-se a temas caros a Portugal, como o espaço marítimo, a melancolia, a saudade e o salazarismo. O trabalho também investiga a recorrente presença portuguesa em seus ensaios e em suas crônicas. Palavras-chave: Relação Brasil-Portugal; Literatura portuguesa; Intertextualidade; Manuel Bandeira. RESUMEN: Cierto es que las relaciones literarias entre Brasil y Portugal han sido mucho más fructíferas. Camões, Eugênio de Castro, António Nobre, Fernando Pessoa... Toda la formación literaria de Manuel Bandeira pasa por el mundo lusitano, como él mismo afirma en Itinerário de Pasárgada, su viaje de memorias. El presente trabajo, no solo subraya la presencia de Portugal en la obra de Manuel Bandeira sino muestra su conocimiento sobre la literatura portuguesa. Del simbolista António Nobre, por ejemplo, Bandeira asume una fuerza inspi- radora perceptible, sobre todo en la obra A Cinza das horas, donde se puede encontrar un riquísimo diálogo intertextual entre el poeta brasileño y el portugués. Además, hay un número expresivo de otros poemas dedicados a autores portugueses, así como constantes inmersiones en la simbología lusitana. De hecho, el poeta brasileño se dedica a temas muy significativos a Portugal, como el espacio marítimo, la melancolía, la nostalgia y Salazar. Asimismo, vale decir que este trabajo investiga la reiterada presencia de Portugal en sus ensayos y en sus crónicas. ABSTRACT: Literary relations between Brazil and Portugal have been more fruitful in a not too distant past. Camões, Eugénio de Castro, António Nobre, Fernando Pessoa… Manuel Bandeira’s upbringing dwells deeply into the Lusitanian world, as he notes in his book of memories, Itinerário de Pasárgada. This paper attempts to highlight the presence of Portugal in Manuel Bandeira’s work. Symbolist poet António Nobre, for example, is an inspiring force, particularly in A cinza das horas, where we can find a very rich intertextual dialogue between Brazilian and Portuguese poets. In addition, he dedicates many other poems to Portuguese writers, and his work consistently plunges into Lusitanian Symbolism. Bandeira often focuses on important themes to Portugal, like the sea, the melancholy, the «saudade» and Salazar. This paper also investigates the recurrent Portuguese presence on his essays and chronicles. Key words: Brazil-Portugal relation; Portuguese literature; Intertextuality; Manuel Bandeira.
